Here's a sneek peak of one of my most wanted characters for the upcoming Smash Brothers: Rayman, the light of the Dreamer!

I've been a fan of Rayman's since his first game, but after getting a hold of Origins the thought of him being in SSB has swelled in my mind more than any other third party character (besides Mega Man XD)! His moves in that game alone seemed to have been inspired by Smash, and with Ubisoft's positive history with Nintendo overall and the once promising stance they had on the Wii U, my hopes seemed to be close to reality. I remember when Rayman Legends impressed me more than Nintendo's offerings a couple E3s back.

Unfortunately, the sales of ZombiU foretold of a similar doomsday for Rayman in Ubisoft's eyes, so the once exclusive Legends became multiplatform. My hopes were curved, and I'm not too sure that he'd appear in the next Smash Brothers.

While I no longer hold out hope for Rayman, I'm still mesmerized by his moveset potential and what he could bring to the game. Nintendo has only one other limbless being that might make it in, and Rayman and Sukapon are quite different from one another. I doubt their potential would overlap!

As a 3rd party character, he looks like he'd fit nicely in the SSB universe, with his charm, personality and somewhat immature sense of humor. And, with the news that there'll be Mario-themed costumes in Legends' Wii U version, maybe...JUST MAYBE...the idea was at least considered.
