Drive was LEAGUES above Wizard. The first half of the series wasn't great, but it really kicked into high gear in the later half (no pun intended).
At least Drive was creative and tried to subvert tropes. Wizard was unimaginative, boring, and generic as hell, which is really saying something for a show about magic!

Wizard might have been offensively boring... but at least the SIC Figures were damn pretty.
And don't get me started that I still don't see any sign of Fourze getting a high-detailed figure.

I'd say aesthetics were Wizard's only strong point (for the riders anyway).
It had a lot of potential, which really disappointed me more than offended me. I don't hate it, because there were some things that I liked, but it is my least favorite tokusatsu of all time.

Actually, the Phoenix arc was good (though, it would've made more sense to let Beast absorb Phoenix's mana).
It was really just the writing in general.
First off, every single episode goes like this: 1 min fight at beginning, talkingtalkingtalkingtalkingtalking for the middle 20 minutes, less than 1 min fight at the end. EVERY. SINGLE. EPISODE!!! And, if there are any new plot developments, they don't happen until the LAST TEN SECONDS OF THE EPISODE!!! Those poor kids must've been bored out of their minds!
Second, the wiseman reveal. Everyone and their grandmother guessed immediately that Wiseman and White Wizard were one and the same, but they dragged it on SO DAMN LONG and then FINALLY revealed it and essentially said "Hah hah, you never guessed it!" like some Shyamalon BS. What would've been better is if they revealed the twist much earlier, but just kept the main characters from finding out until later. That would have been interesting, cause then we could see half the story unfold from Fueki's perspective, and then maybe we'd sympathize with him a bit more instead of being annoyed with him for being a douchelord who wants to sacrifice the world just to save his daughter! (Oh yeah, did I mention that when Haruto fights Fueki for the first time as Wiseman, Fueki drains all of his mana from a distance with no effort, and then when Haruto fights Fueki again as White Wizard, he conveniently forgets he has that power! That's just lazy!)
Finally, Haruto. This guy was SOOOOOOO BORING!!! It's not just that he didn't have interesting character traits, he had NO TRAITS AT ALL!!! He was a walking cardboard cutout. He just sort of walked around with a blank expression telling people to "hold onto hope" like an arrogant ass. Sure, Tendou from Kabuto was also an arrogant ass, but at least he was fun to watch. Haruto was so uninteresting that I had no reason to root for him other than Phoenix/Fueki/Gremlin just needed to die!

Oh yeah, and at least Drive didn't do the whole "my partner is dead" thing for the upteenth time! I mean, it's more like "my partner isn't around anymore, but will be back for the crossover movie," but at least it did it in a way that makes sense.
