Description These are the test versions for some props for my and my husbands Dr Who costumes. They are made out of Play-Doh but they will get casted in plaster molds and then made out of a different material.

The first two are for my costume as Romana 4th version. And the last is for is Dr Who 13th version costume.

Ohhh, hair thingie!

I think I've come here at least three times to ogle-and every time I think, man that's shiny, I'd love to have one myself, but it looks so heavy. I can't wait to see the final versions!

What sort of clasp or clip or tie or whatever are you planning on using?

I love play doh, except I wish they made it so you could let it dry without it getting all those little white spots on it

AND THEN MYCROFT IS ALL "COULD YOU ALL PLEASE BE QUIET I HAVE A PAPER TO FINISH." (Because elementary-schooler!Mycroft [he's seven years older than Holmes at least in canon] is SO a focused academic who just wants to be left alone)

BUT THEN, GREGSON IS ALL "HOPKINS' MOTHER MADE COOKIES!!!" AND THE PLAY-DOUGH IS FORGOTTEN BY ALL BUT HOLMES, WHO IS LEFT STARING AT IT FORLORNLY.

YUS! Now that I think about it, I think if Mycroft went to school with me, we'd be great friends. I was never one of those people who partied the nights away at friends' birthdays/sleepovers. I always made up an excuse like "Sorry, we're having company," or something like that so I could just stay home and get ahead on schoolwork and learn chemistry n' such

Anyway...
AND THEN HOLMES WANDERS OVER TO THE PLAY-DOH AND PICKS IT UP, BUT WATSON IS LIKE OH NO YOU DON'T AND THROWS IT TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM.

I never refused, mostly out of politeness (and we had a school rule that you had to invite your whole class to your birthday party, since our classes were small). Of course, I didn't exactly have people clamoring for my attention.
<.<
Well, to be perfectly honest, they all really liked to insult and look down on me.

AND THEN HOLMES IS LIKE "HAVE WE GOT ANY MORE PLAY-DOH?" AND WATSON'S ALL "YOU ARE NOT EATING THAT PLAY-DOH" AND HOLMES IS ALL "NO I'M MAKING ART ON THE WALLS WITH IT" AND WATSON FACEPALMS WITH EXTREME DIGNITY.

I drew a rather cute scribble earlier--chibi!RDJ!Holmes and chibi!Law!Watson. Fluffiness. To be specific, a terminally adorable kiss on the cheek. I can't remember if you ship or not, but you'd probably find it cute anyway.

Just wondering, how did they make~ you invite people to your party? Or was the party at school?

EXTREME DIGNITY! AND LESTRADE IS JUST OVER IN THE CORNER NOM-ING ON A COOKIE VERY CONTENTEDLY.

flying-katana In reply to GallifreyanGeek [2011-03-23 00:51:55 +0000 UTC]

Neither. It was just something that happened. We had small classes, though. Seven to twelve kids, I suppose. Sometimes, fewer.

AND HOPKINS IS LOOKING AT HIM SURREPTITIOUSLY. HE'S ALL "HE LIKES MOTHER'S BAKING? "

GallifreyanGeek In reply to flying-katana [2011-03-23 21:00:21 +0000 UTC]

Oh... Just wondering since there's not like a law~ that says you have to invite these specific people to your party

AND LESTRADE HAS GONE BACK INTO THE KITCHEN TO CLING ONTO HOPKINS' MOTHER'S LEG AND IS GOING "I WUUUUUUV JOOOOOO!"

I don't know why, but I always pictured Lestrade's childhood a constant search for affection; his parents were never all that nice to him, in fact they often abused him.

Yeah, it confused me too.

AND SHE'S ALL LIKE "COOL. YOU KIDS WANT TO STAY FOR DINNER OR ANYTHING?" AND MYCROFT IS LIKE "NAAH I'LL JUST GO TO THE LIBRARY" BUT EVERYONE IS ALL "YAH LETS WOOHOO"

Well, he IS emo. To us. So that seems like a reasonable theory.

Could work! Except that we know how Holmes and Watson met. And Hopkins is younger than the rest of them by like a decade (come to think of it, Lestrade is older than Holmes. And Watson is also older than Holmes, though by fewer years)...

But meh. I guess it was everyone except Watson (AND IRENE SHE WOULD HAVE MADE IT SO COOL). The agegroup thing doesn't really matter IT'S TOO EPIC.

GallifreyanGeek In reply to flying-katana [2011-03-24 01:09:54 +0000 UTC]

Really? Wow, I always thought of Lestrade as maybe 7 years younger than Holmes... Watson not so much, but still younger by a couple years.

IRENE! YUS.

flying-katana In reply to GallifreyanGeek [2011-03-24 10:48:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Holmes was twenty-seven for A Study in Scarlet and I think that Watson was, like, thirty-four. Or was it thirty-one? And Lestrade was working on the police force for at least a decade before Watson showed up, so he's like forty at the youngest. Of course, in our little crackficroleplayverse, Lestrade is the same age as the rest of them and Watson is within a year of Holmes.
Hopkins is described as being somewhere around thirty when he meets Watson, which is a short while after the Hiatus, so Holmes is juuust about forty at the time. Which is why Hopkins is such an angsty teenager in the RP, although I think the age difference is nothing more than three years in our version.
Mycroft's agegap is seven years with Holmes, but I think we'll make it closer to five.

You know what screw it. I'm going to write that thing as an AU of our fic. With Watson, Irene, everybody. Because it is adorable and the mental image of child!Irene being all mischievous and sneaky is just TOOOOOO EFFING CUUUUUTE~~~! I DIED. And it needs to be done. Now.

So I saw the Granada The Second Stain. Holmes was being unusually emotional throughout I think he was PMSing, and at the end he FREAKING LEAPS INTO THE AIR ON TOP OF A FLIGHT OF STAIRS, WITH THIS TOTALLY ADORABLE GOOFY GRIN LIKE "YEP WATSON WE DONE SOLVED US A CASE!" and it's just Made. Of. Squee.
