Description I finally drew another bookmark! ^^ Well, technically, I drew a Metroid one first but I never finished it--It just didnt' seem as good as the one I made for Ogre Battle.. :\ Then, while playing Wind Waker, I got the idea to draw a Wind Waker bookmark! And.. I think I drew a pair of eyes and that was that. ;;;;;;; And now, recently, after finishing the inking on ALL the piece of my big Zelda CG, I found that I could now start drawing something else, and I wanted to draw something Zelda soooooo.. I looked... And I still had the Zelda Bookmark on my To-Do List..... So.. I looked for my incomplete Wind Waker one and I couldn't find it.. So I decided instead to do one with the Oracle games since I'm playing the Second Quest in them now.

The idea for this bookmark came to me pretty quickly. Wisdom and Power. Pure and simple. Of course.... I didn't really know how to illustrate "Wisdom"... So... I just put Link on the ground, messing with his Dungeon Map. And of course, Link, ready for battles, means Power! As for Nayru and Din... I wanted to do something with the Goddess personas, instead of their "human" ones. And thus... You have them with their appropriate Triforces, as faceless energy beings like we saw them in Ocarina--Except with the Capcom "human" character designs. I also did the logos for the game MUCH better than I did the OB64 logo on the last bookmark, which was really squashed.

Anyway... This took a considerable amount of time to draw, especially, Link sitting down for the simple fact that I've NEVER drawn anyone sitting "indian style" as they used to say in Elementary School... ;;;;; And.. Yeah, I know.. It's not perfect.. And Link's right hand is SO messed up! ;_;

The coloring was the worst though... It took ALL night to do! From just after dinner, around maybe 6 or 7 PM until WELL after 1 AM! I almost went through ALL -7- of my Zelda CDs! However, I stopped short on Majora's Mask, because Witch Hunter Robin came on and I had to get up and go watch it.... ;;;;;;

I used Prisma Color markers, silver and black Prisma Color pencils, and Nadia lent me her blue Micron pen, for Nayru. It wouldn't been nice to ink Din with a red Micron, but we don't have one.. So, I just inked her with the black Micron and then went over her line art with ... With... ............ Whatever shade of red I had decided would be her principle color. I can't remember which one it was now... I'm so tired and my right temple hurts from the marker fumes (YES, I had the window WIDE open but it didn't HELP!)... I go collapse now... [THUD!]

Oh... And.. Yeah.. Feel free to print this and make a bookmark out of it... [THUD!!!]

Okay, so on this bookmark, I really do like it, and if u ever get a chance u should make it a more crisp drawing in illustrator or photoshop (illustrator is vector so that would be cooler). Prolly one of ur best works personally.

To the zelda thing, I think I want to analyze each game and make the timeline again.

Thanks! ^^ That's from waaaaaaaaaaay back when I used to use actual markers and paper. Everything's digital now, though. XD

Good luck! And now that you've clued me in, I'm goint to keep an eye out for clues on the position of Minish Cap assuming I can play it again one of these days. ^^

U do know that u can get emulators right???? lol not just for ur computer but also for ur DS.

I got this R4ds adapter: [link]
a 1 gig micro SD card (get that anywhere)
and then after i DLed a bunch of of nintendo emulators to play NES and gameboy color I decided to get the 3in1 expansion pack. [link]

That one lets you play Gameboy Advance games that you download. (For some reason I can't seem to find a Minish Cap at my EBgames!!)

So there you go, a bunch of games that u can fit on the 1 gig(most can be 2 gigs) microSD card and ur set for life.

I also forgot to mention that u can make it a music player. I got my best CDs on it.

---------------
Just on my DS I have, Zelda1, Zelda2, Link's awakening DX, Oracle games, A link to the past, and with the expansion pack I also have Minish Cap.

That's okay. My game backlog's too big as it is. Plus my phone holds 2 Gigs of music anyway so I don't really need something like that.

Er.. Did... Did you just... SPAM my picture...? ;_;

Also, no offense, but I subscribe to my own theory which sadly only agrees with your's on the point that Twilight Princess happens on a parallel tangent.

Mine goes something like this.. Ocarina of Time -> Majora's Mask -> Wind Waker -> Phantom Hourglass -> A Link to the Past -> Oracle Series -> Legend of Zelda -> Adventures of Link with Twilight Princess being a divergence from Ocarina. The Four Swords games aren't represented because I haven't finished either of them out of laziness but from what I've seen thus far, I see no connection to the main timeline and both feel like stand alones that are meant to borrow from but are not part of the actual series.

Furthermore, I postulate that the Oracle Games come before Zelda 1 and 2 because both games show Link arriving at North Castle from two different angles. One from the desert beach north of the castle and the other from the grass plains to the east. Furthermore, North Castle is smaller in Oracles than in Zelda's artwork, meaning that parts of the modern castle didn't exist yet. And what was lying inside North Castle was not the sleeping Zelda but the complete Triforce, meaning that this is after Royal Family claimed the Golden Power after Past but before the Princess was put to sleep and the Triforce of Courange hidden.

Also, it's important to note that Hyrule of Zeldas 1, 2, 3, & 4, is not the same Hyrule from the rest of the series. Classic Hyrule which had been preserved prior to Wind Waker was allowed to be destroyed and Link and Tetra were charged with finding a NEW Hyrule--An event I was hoping to see in Phantom Hourglass but sadly, I guess Link and Tetra are still looking.

I'll give you points, though. Your timeline leaves the Master Sword at the bottom of the ocean and has no need for it to return but if the sword stays on the bottom, so does Gannon. How could he have been freed to continue menacing Hyrule? That's still a question that needs answering, no matter the timeline.

While I understand your reasoning... There is one fatal flaw with your theory. How can Link to the Past follow Twilight Princess when Gannon is not sealed in the Golden Land at the end but simply... Dies. Which brings up another plot hole in and of itself. Twilight Princess supposedly occurs in a world where Young Zelda was able to tip her father off about Gannon's intentions BEFORE he could enter the Golden Land and claim the Triforce, thus allowing him to be improsoned and sent to Twili World. However if he never claimed the Triforce, where did he get the power to make Zant his flunkie and just HOW did he come to have the Triforce of Power by the end of the game? In anycase, the Triforce left him at the end and he died. No sealing. No Golden Land. No Link to the Past. Twilight Princess seems to be a dead end that leads nowhere.

Anyway, that's MY theory, I COULD be wrong. XD

LOL wow i did spam hahah crazyness. anyways, I have backed evidence *nods*.

Okay in TP:
-Ganon gets the Triforce from Ocarina of Time. He is still able to enter the Temple of time because Link opened it when he was younger, In the Majora Timeline Link returns RIGHT before Ganon could Use the Triforce (you see them sealing Ganon in TP). When he loses the Triforce in the end it doesn't mean his spirit is dead, he can still be revived by some game between TP and 4 sword adventures. Also It MAY be possible that Ganon was just possessing Zants body, so that when Zant broke his neck, he also was able to kill his own body and Ganon had to leave the body as a spirit again (this time with a lost body the Triforce could have reformed or he just wasn't strong enough anymore to use the Triforce, and so it doesnt mean he lost it).
-Being able to control Zant was explained in the game. Zant screamed out in pain, and Ganon's spirit (looks like Sigma from Mega Man X if u ask me) offered power to him.

In Windwaker:
-Ganon also Dies in this game but u never see his spirit disapate . And if you look at the map provided in Adventures of Link (here is a link to my older timeline, it has Hyrule's map on the bottom right [link] ) you can see that the land looks as if it is still partially flooded. Zelda 1 happens in the south. No towns. Could be the land Tetra and Link find. Then Zelda 2 happens in the North. There are Towns now, but still partially flooded.

Where is Link's awakening on ur Timeline?

I think i was wrong to have Link's awakening after A Link to the Past because in the end of the Oracle games... (oops).

And if u watch one of my links in the Artist's Comments it proves that Myomoto officially said that there was a split timeline after Ocarina of Time. It wouldn't make sense for there to be a split in the timeline if there was no way to close it off. Also A link to the Past feels like the exact same adventure as Zelda 1, just longer. (even Ganon feels the same). And Oracle of Seasons has the same first level Tree trunk as Zelda 1. Weird I think.

Minish Cap:
It is through storyline the first game. Too many clues.

HAHA, This is fun ^___^. Anyways, this is just all what I think through game research and plus, I do have breaks in my timeline to show possible extra add ins of other games. Do keep in mind that There is proof of a Split timeline theory. WATCH IT!

as a side note, i didn't really like Twilight Princess, as the clues are just waaaaay to vague and the new weapons in the game felt totally useless after the temple you got them from unlike other zelda games. It was probably rushed (even after 2 years of delay)

Hey we should get together with others and talk the timeline out!

Well, would you at least mind commenting on the picture so isn't completely spam?

TP

-Well, see that's the big sticking point for me in TP. Ganon just HAS the Triforce out of nowhere and that creates a problem for me because I don't believe if he actually had it, that he could be sent to the Twili Realm. The Imprisoning War would've happened and TP wouldn't have. But without the Triforce, he probably couldn't have taken control of Zant either. That's a paradox I can't get over. To me Ganon has his powers as a sorcerer and King of the Gerudo, but in the end, he's just a man, more or less, hence his lust for the Triforce. And it's WITH the Triforce that he's been able to come back all these times. In fact, one of the main themes of my theory is that as Ganon gets beaten again and again , the power the Triforce bestowed upon him of near immortality gets weaker and weaker until he finally just dies. To have Ganon just give out at the end of TP without a sealing event or any other super-natural occurances aside from the Triforce disappearing from his hand seems to indicate a finality to things. Ganon's deaths either by location or other means let you know he's coming back. But with TP... I just didn't see that. :\ Only time will tell, I guess, though... XD

-Which goes back to my earlier point that to offer Zant power, he had to have power to offer. Back to the paradox. When did he get the Triforce? If he had it all along, how did they imprison him without Adult Link and Zelda? If he acquired it only after getting back from the Twili Realm and taking the castle, was it Ganon's sheer WILL that made Zant so powerful? Too many questions... [SHAKES HEAD]

Windwaker

-I don't think he died. I think he's just stoned until someone pulls the Master Sword out. XD And a loose end I'd like tied at some point. XD

Yeeeeees... That's true... There's never been any debate over where Zeldas 1 and 2 happen as the games make that pretty clear. However... I don't know where you got that map but its depiction of the Death Mountain Valley region where the first game occured, is highly fictional. :\ If you look at the actual maps from the games, first Zelda 2's [link] and then Zelda 1's [link] , you should notice that the first game's area is actually just a REALLY, REALLY small portion of greater Hyrule and not simply the "bottom-half" as that map implies. Also, I don't understand what you mean about "partial flooding" of the northern reagion. I mean, to judge that it's been flooded, we would have to have seen it previous to Zelda 2 to make that judgement but Zelda 2 is the first time we've seen that end of Hyrule. So... How do you know it's still somewhat flooded?

Link's Awakening

Comes right after Link to the Past... Sorry... I forgot about to put it...

Because in the end of the Oracle games... What...? You sorta trailed off there without explaining what you were talking about...

Wait, wasn't it Eiji Aounoma who said it? [CHECKS WIKIPEDIA] Ah. Yeah, he says it to explain Twilight Princess, however, we don't know the far reaching effects of the TP line. ... Actually... Now, that I think about it... Link to the Past can't be in an alternate time line because the game speaks about the Imprisoning War which DOESN'T occur in TP as said by Aounoma himself! Additionally, how could Ganon be sealed in the Golden Land if was never put there in TP? That... Sorta breaks your theory, doesn't it...? Sorry... I didn't mean to... ;_;

Minish Cap

-I see. Like I said, I haven't finished either game yet... I know Minish is a GBA game but in Zelda games, I typically keep maps and checklists which are too unweildy to lug around so I've been playing it at home, only. Phantom Hourglass didn't have the same problems since you could keep notes in game and it really wasn't that long or complicated. The problem is that I work 40 hours a week and even on my days off, I don't have time to play games anymore... :\ Most of my gaming these days is on my DS because I can get in at least an hour and a half of play time every day on my breaks. At home, if I have time, I've been spending most of my time playing Super Robot Wars GC and completely ignoring all the other games in my to-do pile. In anycase, Minish and Four Swords are staying off my time line until I've played them completely and know exactly where to put them.

Oh, I've been pieceing the Zelda storyline together almost as long as the series has been around. XD It's truly one of my favorites! I only wish Miyamoto would just put the issues of the series to bed once and for all with a book or something. Maybe an art book containing ALL of the series official artwork throughout the years, perhaps even with unreleased artwork!

In anycase, this HAS been fun! ^^ Of course, it would be funner if it didn't take two hours to type something that should've taken only half an hour if wasn't for these GOD DAMNED ADS!!! My wife has always told me to post my Zelda Timeline for everyone to see, but I've never did it because I felt lazy about it and I didn't want to catch heat from others who didn't agree... Maybe after Minish and Four Swords...
