The demon child of Cain from the story of Beowulf, and the scourge of the Hall of Heorot. Good work!

And to think that Beowulf took this thing on unarmed. And if the CGI movie is to be believed, buck-naked as well.

Whoa; talk about ugly. This is why inter-species relationships should be discouraged.

This is really good. One thing I would change though, is giving him bigger teeth and longer claws. But that's just a nit-pick.

awesome see this is how i always imagined grendel
not the weird very humanlike version in the
otherwise good 2007 beowulf film

The poem never actually said what Grendel was, except that he was a descendant of Cain's cursed lineage.

Wish they'd used this version in the newer movie. Maybe then I wouldn't feel like I was watching a giant burn victim.
I love the coloring, and even the action. Also, the glowing eyes are a nice touch against the sort of dull color scheme.

Perhaps its been said before, but i would love to see your concept of Grendel's Mother who is also killed by Beowulf~

OMFG! This would so rock if included as the picture for Grendel in Dungeon and Dragon's Dragon Magazine's version of stated Grendel! He's a true monster! I wish Dragon Magazine had offered to pay you mondo sums of cash to use your drawings of monsters and heroes for their magazine.

kickass version of Grendel, way more badass looking than the one depicted in the recent movie based on the epic tale of beowulf, though that one was scary too!

Sorry, but I have a problem with this. There's absolutely nothing in that picture to give Grendel scale. How big is he supposed to be in that?

Hard to believe that Beowulf was able to rip the arm off of THAT. I, sir, am in awe.

Grendel wasn't an assassin, nor was he half dragon. You also misspelled Beowulf, myths, and legends.
