Thanks so much for the Yes, I did make it. It was one of the most fun carvings I've done. I used my cat as a model and she was pretty tired of me taking photos of her body parts.

I really enjoyed carving this. I need to do another cat once I finish what I'm working on.....which may take over a year.

Do you sell these?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

georgiarose In reply to AkiraBlue [2008-06-15 17:29:44 +0000 UTC]

I never have because I put so much time into them that what I could get for the piece would end up bringing in less than $4 an hour if I was lucky.

AkiraBlue In reply to georgiarose [2008-06-17 16:19:49 +0000 UTC]

You could charge about $10,000 for each piece to make up for all the time, lol.

Rockets-In-A-Bottle [2008-02-21 15:43:52 +0000 UTC]

what did you use to carve it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

georgiarose In reply to Rockets-In-A-Bottle [2008-02-21 16:34:03 +0000 UTC]

Tupelo wood and dremel tools. I like the sanding bits a lot for carving although the small ones do not take off much wood at a time.

ah ha. i do a bit of carving myself. so i was jsut wondering cuz that looked like a big chunk of wood you started out with. you cant even ell that the tail is a second piece.

Thanks...epoxy works real well I went through the wood on one of the ears so that had to be repaired too.

I took a picture after I finished carving and sanding. I'll take another when I finish the wood burning and then the final picture. Too bad I didn't take a picture of the two blocks of wood that I started with.
