Description Based upon information from the Wheel of Fortune History Wiki, I made the bold move to try recreate the layout that was possibly used in the Head-To-Head round on the hour-long episodes of Wheel of Fortune that aired in late 1975 and January 1976.

This was the actual first appearance of the $2000 space, which became a permanent playable value on Wheel of Fortune in 1979 and made its last appearance as a playable value in 1989, more than likely never making a nighttime appearance as a playable value.

This was also when the Prize wedges made their first ever appearances on Wheel, but the rules were very different.

If you landed on it, the Prize was yours whether or not you solved the puzzle possibly unless you hit a Bankrupt. You automatically got to spin again. If you landed on a Bankrupt, it probably had to be put back on the Wheel and be landed on again to be reclaimed, but this statement is not 100% certain.

If there is any information any of you know about this round that contradicts what I said in the description or is incorrect in the illustration, please let me know and I'll put up a second version. V1 stands for version 1.

Yes way. DJ.

But yes, indeed they did. The 70s were no doubt a time of experimenting with ideas that eventually became a part of the show we know and love today. Even so, people would never guess the 70s stuff since some don't even know that Wheel was a 70s show.
