Its actually been some time I have personally ever stuck out my hand, like I have for Derrick. heres my example

Derrick was under the weather today. So I offered to take his shift at work. We both work at Fazolis and go to the same college. He declined because his ride was coming soon. However he did sound genuinly thanful I had asked that. I told him I had his back in more then a few instances and I would do a lot for him already. I feel as if at this point he needs someone to show him friendship, one that asks nothing in return, one who would take the burden if it helped him. Which is what I hope I can be for him.

Were friends at the moment nothing more, for several reasons one we both want to get to know eachother and two I am still not totally into the idea of dating him. And he knows I do not want to date at all. So this guy has made it so easy that even with the intention of potential couple which might not happen. We can safely say we will be good friends later on.
