Well HELL YEAH!
Bout time Monoclonius was examined, and honestly the looks completely different to what we see Mono looks like. The lack of the curved frill horns and boss near the horn all distinguish it from Centrosaurus nicely (even though Centrosaurus never had a boss on its snout).

Wow, definitely not much like Centrosaurus.

Monoclonius completely died. He will revive as a new genus, probably.

I drew a "completed version" of this skull for my website, many years ago (the_dinosauria.tripod.com/mono⦠) and at the time, I assumed the original skull had been deformed (as skulls often are) and as such attempted to "correct" the shape
My interpretation was obviously clouded by the long standing close association to Centrosaurus, even despite me stating right on the same page, that they are not the same, so it is very interesting to see your depiction being true to the shape of the original fossil, and showing a slender, elongated skull of an animal closely related to - but certainly not the same as Centrosaurus
Ceratopsid variation seems only to expand more and more, and I am inclined to imagine a rapid development of splintering populations, as they migrate around Laramidia across millions of years
As usual, I really like the pragmatic nature of your skeletals!

CMN 8790 is largely distorted, so my drawing may be too slender...
Great variations of ceratopsian skulls are exciting.
Thank you for comment!
