Erwin Smith was a hero. He had been in many battles and had served his country for a long time. He had been honored with many awards for his bravery and was somewhat of a celebrity within his country. Many women were fans of him due to his charming looks and athletic body. He recently decided to retire from his military career in order to focus on his career in the world of entertainment. He was currently sat in his captain's office in order to receive several pieces of paperwork so that he could officially leave. The clock ticked as the captain looked through papers with his glasses on. He sighed and looked at Erwin.

"Are you sure that you want to leave? It's tough out there."

"I am, sir. I want to at least try to live the life that I want to." Erwin smiled at the older man.

The door suddenly burst open. The captain looked up and rubbed his forehead. Erwin turned around and his smile grew. You stood in the doorway, your [hair color] hair tied up neatly. Your eyes darted around the room before they landed on Erwin, who you shot a quick smile before you looked up at the captain.

"Dad, I kinda need to talk to you about something." You beamed.

Your father sighed and looked back at Erwin.

"Do you mind if she's in here?" Your father asked tiredly.

"Not at all sir." You smiled and sat down in the chair next to Erwin.

You were a doctor who worked at a military hospital. Your father was the captain of Erwin's unit, which lead you to spend time with Erwin whenever your father dropped by the hospital. You liked the man, he was very respectful towards you and often helped you to entertain yourself when things got slow at work. Erwin liked you too. He thought that you were one of the prettiest women he had ever seen. He liked to watch you work, he thought that it really showed just how kind and smart you were. Erwin couldn't help but fall in love with someone like you. The captain handed Erwin the papers he had requested and the turned to you.

"Now, what is it that you needed [Name]?" You father looked at you expectantly.

"Well... it's good news!" You [eye color] eyes lit up. "I'm getting married!"

Your father's jaw dropped open. Were you serious? Erwin looked at the ground. You had to be joking. There was no way that you could get married to someone other than him.

"Remember how I told you that I was dating someone? He just proposed to me!" You smile didn't fade.

"Now [Name], don't you think that you're rushing this a little bit? You haven't been with him that long..." Anxiety was present in your father's voice.

"Dad, you know Levi well enough. Besides, isn't my happiness all that matters?"

Erwin felt his heart crumble. Levi. You were dating Levi Ackerman, a close friend of Erwin's who worked as the hospital's director. Erwin had told Levi not too long ago about his plans to ask you out after he retired. Had you two already been dating then? Erwin felt a new feeling. Jealousy. He was jealous of Levi for asking you out before him, jealous of Levi for being your lover, and most of all, jealous of Levi for having you.

"I know sweetie, but I still think that you should think it over... Promise me you'll give some more thought?"

"Fine." You grunted in response.

Erwin sat outside of the office building, still in shock from what you had said earlier. He just couldn't believe that you were marrying someone other than him, much less Levi. He stared at the pavement, surely there had to be a reason for this. Maybe you were trying to make him jealous? Yes, that was definitely it. There was just no way that you really liked Levi.

"Yo Erwin." A masculine voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

Erwin looked up and his crystal blue eyes met steely grey ones. Levi gave a nod to greet him. Erwin stood up and looked at the shorter man.

"I'm guessing you heard about [Name] and me. Listen, about what you told me before. [Name] and I had already been dating by then, I just didn't know what to tell you, she wanted to keep it a secret, so I didn't say anything... Sorry." Levi rubbed the back of his head.

Liar. Erwin thought bitterly.

"It's fine. I'm happy for you two. Congratulations." Erwin forced himself to smile.

"I'm glad you're not upset--" Levi began to speak but was cut off by his phone buzzing. He checked it and looked back at Erwin. "Sorry I have to go meet [Name] for something now. We'll talk later!"

Levi began to walk towards the building, leaving Erwin alone once again. There was only one way to fix this.

You excused yourself from the table where Levi and your father were sat in order to use the bathroom. You walked through the hallway, humming to yourself. You couldn't be happier. Levi and your father were getting along and your father had warmed up to the idea of you marrying him. You smiled, you knew that it was going to work out. Just as you were turning the corner, someone grabbed you. You tried to scream but a rough hand covered your mouth. Your breathing quickened as your mind was overtaken with fear.

"Shhh.. Shhhh... Just relax, we'll be away from here soon." You knew that voice, it was Erwin. It couldn't be him though, maybe he was just trying to scare you.

You felt dizzy. Your head became light as black spots started to appear in your vision. There was no way that this was happening to you. You body became limp as you lost consciousness. Once Erwin saw this, he picked you up and began to move you out of the building. He had to act fast. Erwin reached his care and placed you in the backseat, making sure to tie your wrists in case you tried to escape when you woke up. He figured that would happen since you didn't really know who had taken you, he just wanted to keep you tied up until he had time to explain. He rushed into the front seat of his car, grabbing your phone as he did so. He sent a message to Levi, saying how you couldn't do this anymore and that you were going to leave. Forever. After he finished that he took the battery out of the phone and threw it into his glove box before driving off.

It had been several years since [Name] [Last Name] had left. Since she had told someone that she was leaving and there were several sightings of her after the fact, the police refused to consider it a missing persons case because you had supposedly left on your own accord. Levi was heart broken, but continued to try to find you with your father's support. The security footage from that day had already been deleted by the time Levi and your father decided to look at it, you had vanished. Nobody suspected Erwin. He was far too nice and well-liked by the public for people to even fathom that he was involved with you "leaving". If only they knew.

"I'll be back later, [Name]. I have to give another interview today." Erwin tightened his tie.

You glared at him. You had your hands bound behind your back and your mouth was gagged. You had lost count of how many days you had spent like this. It was always the same: Erwin would wake you both up, shower you, dress you, leave for work, come home, feed you, and then go to sleep. You hated him for this. You had once thought he was your friend, but this was no something friends do. He told you that he loved you and that he did this so that you could finally be with him. It was almost disgusting how delusional this man was.

Erwin walked over to you and planted a kiss on your forehead.

"I love you so much [Name], one day you'll see that." He smiled.

"So, we hear that you're quite the hero." the talk show host beamed at Erwin,

"Well I wouldn't quite say that," Erwin laughed. "I have done somethings that could be considered heroic, but I don't see myself like that."

The talk show host laughed and began to speak again. If only they knew just how disturbed he was, they would know the truth about him. That he was not a hero.
