I wasn't sure that Kate would decide not to go through with it, and I am glad that she didn't. Life in the Wasteland is going to be difficult, but at least is isn't the death sentence that staying with the Brotherhood will be, given current circumstances... I am also glad that Veronica decided to leave with Kate. I have never believed that the Brotherhood was really a place for her long term. I always convince her to leave during my game plays. She's one of my favorite vanilla companions. Its her sense of humour, honest XD

I'm so glad she didn't go through with it, although being pregnant and raising a child in the wastes certainly isn't easy. At the very least, she will have Veronica with her, so she can punch the heck out of anything that threatens them! Thank goodness they're getting out of there though! Staying would be suicide. Besides, Hardin is an uncompromising dick.
I really do love the amount of emoting you can get out of their faces though. Kate's just made for it. Nicole, in contrast, looks like she's in pain if I try to make her smile. lol

Having Veronica with her is a huge relief, otherwise she would've had it MUCH rougher. And at least they both have SOME wasteland experience under their belts, they aren't complete bunker-rats seeing daylight for the first time 
And thank you! Emoting is at least 30% of the whole thing IMO, none of these shots would have anywhere near the same impact without it...smiling, though, is weird. It almost never looks right, lol, even on Kate (angry and/or sad look great on her on the other hand, luckily (?) she didn't get to smile that much during the story

I've even gone into the GECK and tried to adjust Nicole's mouth so it's not just a constant scowl, but noooo... even in there it looks wrong.

Yeah, steel can break especially if it's brittle... I guess BoS + Kate just didn't work out, it may be the best for her to forget about everything (I know it's hard for her) and focus on the future.
Well, looks like we'll have a little family soon and Veronica will become daddy!
Fully upgraded laser rifle in the last panel, right? How I loved this weapon... This gun, max charge cells and sneak criticals = goodnight deathclaws! (Goodnight everyone for that matter)

Kate was happy in the BoS...unfortunately a handful of people who unfortunately found themselves in positions of power screwed it up for her (and everyone else). For a while, things looked so much brighter, and the chapter looked like it had a real future, but it was not meant to be (nor was Kate's relationship with Nolan). Now...she'll have to live with her choices and hopefully make a better life elsewhere. She'll have Veronica with her at least for now, though I think "aunt" fits better than "daddy" in this case
Lastly...yes, yes it is. Kate was part of the Order of the Sword, which means weapons are her specialty.

Well, it's not like I haven't had the outline for a sequel in my head for a while now...*cough* But first, a break, lol. I can't even play my game because of this story, my download folder is such a mess only a fresh start can hope to fix.

Exactly, Kate! She were upset about Hardin getting rid of Nolan's things, but in truth she's holding the only true last thing left of his that matters! I'm glad she changed her mind! It's going to be so hard for her, but if she finds a settlement for safety, she'll have a good chance! Veronica also made the right decision in leaving. She didn't agree with Nolan on how things were run, and she sure isn't going to agree with Hardin. He will make her life hell if she stays, plus, Kate needs her more than ever.
I'm still terrified for the chapter...so scared. As excited as I am to see the end sequence of events coming, I know it isn't going to be good. 
Thank you again for including Michael Bigsley, and having him say goodbye to Kate. We know they've had their adventures topside, even though they have been undocumented here. I hope he and Linda Schuler make it out alive....but also, maybe they'll die fighting, and that's okay too. *whimper*
Beautifully touching sequence of events, full of emotion and gorgeously posed, as always. And for the record, you aren't MEAN to your characters. Sometimes amid the multitude of Mary Sues, we forget how GRIM Fallout is and how very cruel it can be to it's own characters. Just watch the end-slides for any of the four games.

Yes, she was hung up on losing Nolan's things and didn't stop to consider the fact that she had something much more precious...really screwed up sense of perspective for a while there. Veronica made a the right call, it would've been even more painful later on, because sooner or later she would've clashed so badly with Hardin he would've thrown her out, unless something even more dire befell the chapter before that...either way the only real hope of a better future she and Kate have at the moment lies somewhere out there.
I simply had to include Bigsley.
Lastly...thanks. I've had quite a few comments about how mean I am to my characters lately, and I didn't want people to think I was doing it for cheap thrills and meaningless drama. It all has a reason and and let's face it, Fallout is an unforgiving world. Those who survive do not do so unscathed.
