Heretical Hypocrisy is a simple card I made a while ago, as part of a little splurge of making singleton cards I had. Its effect is a twisting of the infamous Maxx "C", where instead of drawing based on Special Summons, it draws you based on the number of searching done after its activation. Said activation condition is similar to Droll & Lock Bird's condition, where it only can be used after the opponent has already searched, before applying a turn-long effect, so you can't cheat by proactively firing this card to get a free draw when a search effect resolves.

While its obvious that if you activate this card when the opponent searches twice at once (like via Frightfur Patchwork), every subsequent search retroactively gives you a "Pot of Greed" effect, that's not all this card does. The card is activatable regardless of how your opponent's hand gets filled up, so GY recovery, bouncing, etc are all windows of activation for this card. Its just that searching is the most likely way of enabling this card.

Trivia: The name "Heretical Hypocrisy" was given after the effect was decided on. Said card name is also an oxymoron, because while it doesnt prevent your opponent from filling their hand, it discourages doing so because it fills your own as well, thus being "hypocritical" to a "heretical" cause.
