This is bloody brilliant! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/e/e… " width="23" height="19" alt="" title="OMG! I can't contain my excitement!" /> It jumped out form the thumbnail and grabbed me by the jugular - I wanted to know what going on in the image. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="25" height="25" alt="" title="Boogie!" />

The composition and perspective are fab - I love the curves and lines of the different elements; and I love the strong present and pose of the model, the combination of leather and top-hat is inspired. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c… " width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap" />

What I like most of all is that this image looks like I've walked into the middle of something and it makes me want to know more - what just happened, what did I miss, and what is going to happen next?

Overall totally brill - more please! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="25" height="25" alt="" title="Boogie!" />

1/15 and a focal length of 32mm is pushing the limits for most people handheld. There is evidence of a little motion blur. I would think about 1/60 at f4, or 1/125 at f4 and 400ISO, focusing on the right eye to make it dead sharp and allowing the rest of the image to blur out a tad.

This would also work well as a square crop, making it tighter and losing the blacks at the bottom of the frame. Having the lamp a tad further away would even out the light, allowing less highlight wash out on the right of his face, and a bit more shadow detail (shooting at 400ISO would also reduce the contrast.

I hope that helps.

Hi there , I'm not overly aware of this motion blur as it's a damn sight sharper than my photos heh, but I see what you mean about lighting and exposure. That said, most people comment that the photos I take are underexposed (or over), but I just have a huge thing for sharp contrast and hard light and dark blacks As she mentioned, I set up the settings for her to take because I don't don't have a cable release or infrared controller, and I can't get into a relaxed stance with the 10 seconds auto timer so she helped out there . Nomally I think she'd go a softer approach but we were working with low light settings with a strong spot light.

It is a very good point about the square cropping because there is indeed a lot of black space at the bottom

Thanks for the feedback for both Even though Soph took the photo, it's good for me to see feedback and critique too to help in my directing and such

You're most welcome. Too many years of teaching and coaching in various disciplines means I value feedback, but I very rarely give critiques of work or artists I don't like.

I must say, your model looks truly badass XD
The way the light falls on his face is great. Is it all natural light?
