What amazes me about pro photographers is how they almost always get the best focus and exposure just at the right moment. They say take a few hundred shots, which I did, but I know there's something else missing that's keeping me from shooting a good one. Maybe it's the soul. Hahaha, damn I admire you people.

I like the perspective. Since the cat looks scared, I guess he/she is a feral.

Hahaha That is such a familiar scene to me that it's funny... except this cat isn't playing chicken with a car.
I really love this photo. The deterioration of the walls has an enormous impact. The plaster (and is that paint?) peeling from the walls, the struggling foundations, and the cracked, crumbling walls seem as though they're degenerating in the whole scheme of things, moving backwards through time and becoming fragments of history like the rubble in the sand. The cat, meanwhile, seems to serve as a juxtuposition to the increasingly ancient nature of the walls; an other-worldly sudden spot of darkness in the light sand, like a slap in its face, young and lithe and energetic, looking to the future; the definition of youth and forward energy. The way the earth seems to curve dramatically is like a track for the cat, propelling it forward through the couse of time, the rigid ancient walls looking on with curiosity... or is it some form of disapproval? Doubt and fear, maybe?
As much as I admire the photograph, I have to say that the title is just as striking as the image itself, and more than fitting. The cat's fleeting nature and the way it seems to oppose its surroundings makes it look supernatural and ethereal. Something that can come and go as quickly, silently, and gracefully as a shadow... it's no wonder black cats have been viewed with suspicion in most of the Western world. It doesn't matter though... I will continue to tempt fate.
Congratulations on another astounding image.

Wide angle lens? or just clever arrangment of sand?

The centered composition works well. The image almost feels like it has a zoom blur. It's a good argument to get the 10-22 EF-S lens.

The surrealism of this shot is killing me. Could the setting, lighting, angle and moment be more awkward? Great

If it wasn't for the shadow of the cat on the ground I'd have sworn that the cat itself was a shadow, this picture had me with my face up close to the screen trying to 'get it' which I think says a lot about how cleaver it is. The proportions are all very surreal and at the same time I am still drawn to appreciate something as random as the texture of the wall and the colours of it.. a really great image that I enjoyed seeing!

A very strong image. The cat really stands out from the subtle background colours. It's hard to believe that the panning makes a difference at 1/640, at least it's not visible in the background, but still one can sense it, that's magic. I am very interested in this lens, do you reccomend it?

Do i recommend it?
Shittt, that's the best lens i worked with!
I have a friend that has the conon 300D and that lens, and since there is no lens exactly like that for Nikon, i keep going out with him for sessions, and lending his camera (and lens) for a while.
The 10-22 is very wide, but ut's not fish eye.
If im not mistaken, it's the widest without a fisheye effect.
That will get you the distorted effect, without the distorted frame.
Beside, you can shoot from 5 cm with it!!!
I love it!

Thank you very much Gilad.
I just can't get enough of the world into my 17-55mm lens, so I guess this lens is the answer for me.
