Took me a moment to realize that this is reflection. Ilike the texture in the mix with the dark but warm colours. Nice shot!

Stunning! At first thought, from the thumbnail, I thought this was a photomanipulation and that made me ponder. I thought it might have been some Photoshop effect to make it look like a canvas painting or a similar texture. Once I opened it up and read the description, this shot is just amazing. That is the one thing I love about your photography (and some select others on DeviantArt) is the ability for you to capture something ordinary, and simple and turn it into something beautiful and stunning, as well as the ability to put meaning behind a picture and really make someone believe they were truly the one experiencing the thoughts, and taking the picture. Wonderful job! This peices looks as if the reflection was engraved in a stone of some sort, well to me, or a reverse bevel. I believe that is becuase of the angle of the light hitting the trunk and branches of the tree. The choice of sepia was a really good decision. The simplicity of the colors make the shot what it is. Keep up the good work!

I thought I commented on this a long time ago ... have you been resubmitting a number of your old photos as Prints?

gilad In reply to ScreamingPoet [2005-01-05 06:25:08 +0000 UTC]

Yes, exactly

That explains it ... because I have noticed a number of photos in the past couple of months that I could have sworn I had commented on in rather specific detail previously ... so don't let my lack of comments suggest that I don't like your work!

How astonishing, it looks very little like a photo. I'm thinking Woodblock printing or coldpoint intaglio on a old rustic japanese screen left outside for a while. Very interesting.

nice colors and detail. the color makes it feel more abstract. at first look, i thought this was a birds-eye-view of a dirt countryside, mountain range or something... but nice work..

Wow... when I first looked at this, I thought that it was either a very old picture that has browned over time, or a woodblock print. It's beautiful! I especially like the texture and the sepia tones.
