This is my second attempt at a MLP sculpture. I learnt a lot from the first one and I think this ones came out much better. I love Nightmare moons mane in the show so I tried to do it justice on this model. I'm quite happy with how the mane turned out but due to its 2d nature it has its draw backs so I don't think I'd do it that way again. Yes those are constellations in her hair, ursa minor in the mane and pegasus in her tail.MLP:FiM belongs to hasbro

She is made from air dry clay and acrylic paints. The mane was done using acetate and glass paints with a bit of glitter

They're glued into small grooves I put into the body.

wow, really? it looks so dense! how did you manipulate the clay so the weight of the mane and tail wouldn't make it fall over? : O
or i guess the better question to ask what is acetate and where can I get it? XP

Acetate is just a type of plastic, the mane is essentially 2d so it's very light weight.

huh ... so if I look for it and if I tell someone of it, they probably won't understand what it is XD; any keywords I can tell them if I want to look for it? like what it resembles too? similar items that work like it? etc?

Its just a clear plastic sheet, people often use it to print transparent slides.

I remember doing something like this but for Princess Celestia and I actually had her hair floating simalar to yours however I never put it up on deviantart before some big jerk i thought was a great guy threw it into the fire pitt.

Thats terrible, I couldn't imagine throwing this into a fire it's just to cool. I'm definitely going to make a celestia with similar hair I would have loved to have seen yours.

She didn't just have the hair, she also stood up on her hind legs and stayed there with aid of her tail. I hope you do make her I would love to see it. To think he destroyed it because he didn't like the fact I told him his yard was disgusting and he had his momma dog outside with her puppies living in their own feces in an enclosed area with no clean sleeping space and no food or clean water for them. I also baked some flameless candle scented wax into her and it worked you could smell the scent. I'll make another one one of these days but you are better you make them actually look like the characters from the show.

The mane and tail look great. I will have to look up the character to compare. Your sculptures are getting better and better!

yea, well there lucky the show is sutch a hit that people will accualy buy them dispite how bad they are, otherwise they would have nothing.
