I immediately recognized the ghost-like girl! It's from an old vintage photo of young Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. Isn't it? My gallery is full of colorized Romanov black and white photographs. Haha.

First off, I'd just like to say thank you for painting a subject with the correct technique. There are dozens of beautiful paintings on dA that just make you cringe because of their awkward positions. You've captured both form and technique in this lovely painting. Everything about it is wonderful to look at; the light streaming in, the reflections on the chairs, her expression, the ghost (?) on the bed.... It's just absolutely lovely!

I love how the ghost's expression blends with the warm atmosphere... However the violist's right arm particularly her forearm and wrist feel awkward to me. While i must admit that i am not too familiar with how a violin is played, it just seems to be an improper way since it would cause so much strain on the wrist. Although this is just nitpicking, the overall piece is amazing. :3

This is beautiful watercolour work. I adore the seepia tones and the subtle red you've put there. The atmosphere is eerie and haunting - I didn't notice the ghost first, but when I looked at the painting second time, I saw her sitting on the bed.
