This is lovely. You know, I've always had a strange fear of ghosts- although I can't say I perfectly believe in them, I know people dear to me who claim to have seen them and I believe their stories- and I've heard many stories of relatives being seen who have long passed away. I always assumed that would be horrifying, but they tell me it's not. It's a familiar feeling.
And that's what I get out of this painting. It's not menacing or scary to me, even though in my head the idea of it would be. You've painted it in such a way that I find it comforting somehow; and that's wonderful.
I really love the detail and the lighting. It has a warm and innocent feel about it that incites nostalgia.

wow! it seems an spirit, I love the iluminated in arc, and the details

wow what an incredible scene! I admit I looked because I was interested in the arch the tree created, framing the scene it seems. But then I noticed the shadow and what a terrific imace with so many ways to interpret. Fantastic job!
