Description
With the upcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy soon to be released I felt like paying homage to the game series that started me on my journey as a gamer. I also felt like making a Van Goghian painting. I married the two concepts and this was the result: over-the-top high contrast with psychedelic vibes and neon colours. (There is nothing new under the Sun when it comes to my way of self expression.)

This was the first time I completely handpainted both the lineart and the shading. I'm usually using tools for that kind of work, thus it took me way longer to finish working on the dragon. Hurray for an actually successful attempt of soft cellshading! The pose was referenced from a screenshot from the aforementioned game.

The background is a mix between hand painting and photo manipulatoipn. I twisted the original photo of a night sky using the Liquify tool, played around a bit with the oil Paint tool, among other things, and hand crafted the final a look by actually doing some painting and colourisation myself. Same deal with the comets/ sprites you see floating around. I might upload the background on it's on for you to see it clearer.
