Personality
There are many words that can describe Kiburi, including several choice words that many other cheetahs would prefer to use. However, the one that describes him the best is this: JERK. Because he is most definitely a jerk. When anyone tells him this he'll most likely pretend to be offended or smile and say thank you. Whichever one suits his fancy at the time. With an ego that's so huge it could probably explode, Kiburi is full of himself and goes around bragging about his various talents, awesomeness, gorgeousness, etc. He is pretty conceited, thinking that he's better than practically everyone else, and sometimes takes enjoyment in mocking others. He's also very high and mighty, what with his adoration of his own good looks. The thing is, he actually is really handsome. It's just that he knows it, and he flaunts it around. One of the many things that he enjoys doing is gazing at his own reflection in a puddle and making little admiring comments. He's also sort of obsessed with having perfect fur, so every time his fur gets messed up he immediately has to fix it until it returns to looking like sheer perfection. Great looks mean everything to him, and he usually looks down on others who don't take care of their own looks. He's also pretty talented at a lot of things, including lying (though he prefers to use the term acting). When he talks, sometimes it's difficult to distinguish the truth from the lie, or to tell whether he's exaggerating or simply giving the facts. And, for the most part, he can be intelligent (though there have been occasions where his common sense temporarily disappears). He really cannot fight, though. He would probably get killed if involved in a fight, because he's just so awful at it. Before he could ever get killed by anyone he'd probably turn and run away. He's not all that big on bravery and would much rather save his own perfect skin, thank you very much.
Most cheetahs think he's a self-centered jerkface (and he is), but there are times when he can be really sweet and caring. Seriously, no joke. When he wants to be, he is playful and happy, enjoying a good joke and having some old fashioned fun. Unfortunately, this soft, actually nice side of him rarely shows, but it's there. He's gotten it into his mind that he has to keep up an image, and so, as far as he's concerned, that's that.
He's a big flirt. Wait. No, that's an understatement. He's a GINORMOUS flirt. He is an absolute ladies man. If not for the fact that it would be incredibly stupid, he would probably flirt with inanimate objects, like a rock. He prefers flirting with young cheetahs, those around his age or below, but, if bored, he's perfectly willing to go off and flirt with a cheetah three times his age. This usually results with him being slapped, though, so he mostly avoids doing this. Cheetahs of the female gender usually fawn all over him (and sometimes cheetahs of the male gender, which sort of freaks him out a little bit), except for the ones that know of his reputation of being a player. They don't give him the time of day, which makes him more determined to get them to admit how amazing he is. Either that or he just gives up to go search for easier victims (aka girls). He respects those who stick up for themselves, though, but he hasn't ever revealed that to anyone.
All in all, Kiburi is really arrogant, just as his name says, and maybe shouldn't really be taken too seriously. But deep underneath, he does care about things besides himself. He might deny it, but he does.
Gift The Gift of Speech (Kiburi usually uses this gift to his advantage to get on the last nerve of some poor little cheetah)
Brief History
Kiburi was born on an unusually hot winter morning to Daima (always) and Shauku (enthusiastic), two Crowded Water cheetahs who had been waiting anxiously for this day to come. As an only cub, he was immediately his parents' whole world. Daima named him Kiburi, which was an inside joke between her and her mate. Long before their son had been born, Shauku had actually been sort of a jerk himself, and somehow he had won the heart of gentle Daima along the way. He quickly put a halt to his snobby ways for her sake, but Daima always joked with him that she would name one of their future cubs Kiburi, to remind him of how arrogant he used to be. (Daima didn't actually expect for her naming to be a prediction of Kiburi's personality, though, so it's really not her fault that her son turned out the way he did. If she'd known she probably would have named him something different)
Growing up, Kiburi was actually a sweetheart. He was a total momma's boy, and he cherished her and her attentions above anyone else. He would often catch grasshoppers and bring them back to her, proudly showing her how great he was at hunting. She would lick his head and softly tell him how proud she was of him. It's not a very important memory, exactly, but nowadays it's one of his most fondest memories of her. Anyway, while Daima was very loving and tried to raise him right, Kiburi still showed a tendancy to go around boasting and being kind of a jerk to the other cubs. Daima was very disapproving of this and would try to get him to stop. However, Shauku, who was Kiburi's hero, enjoyed seeing how his son was becoming just like him, and basically encouraged him to keep doing what he was doing. Such a great role model, huh? Finally, Daima just gave up trying, because Shauku wasn't exactly helping. She never approved, though, and this caused a rift between her and Shauku, who argued over the situation constantly. Even so, they continued to be loving, doting parents to Kiburi, despite the fact that their own relationship appeared to be unraveling.
A few moons after Kiburi became a tyro, Daima and Shauku finally split up. It wasn't a surprise to anyone else in Crowded Water, as they'd seen it coming, but Kiburi had been completely oblivious. He was completely broken up about it, especially after Shauku met a pretty female in Crooked Tree and left their tribe to go be with her. Kiburi caught him as he was sneaking out of camp, and when he learned what his father was up to he begged him not to leave. But Shauku left anyway. It was then when Kiburi realized that Shauku was not the hero that he had made him out to be. For a while he was inconsolable, but eventually his face began to harden every time Shauku was mentioned. He never forgave his father. He didn't even flinch when the news reached them a few moons later that Shauku, now under a different name, had died during a hunting trip. Apparently after his death his new mate had had cubs of her own, but Kiburi never bothered to find out who his new half siblings were. It didn't matter. They were all dead to him, anyway, so who really cared?
Kiburi's snobby condition worsened after his father left. He was well aware of how heartbroken Daima was, even though she tried not to show it. Despite their falling out, she had truly loved Shauku. Kiburi couldn't stand to see his mother in so much pain, and his resentment grew. Throughout Tyrohood, Kiburi went around bragging about himself, not to mention getting cheetahs to fall in love with him and then shattering their hearts, just like his father had done with his mother. With his lessons, though, he was pretty dedicated, even though he was an absolute terror to his mentor. He could never get the hang of fighting, though, and that really bothered him.
After Kiburi became a Hunter, Daima became sick, and the Healer could not figure out what was wrong or how to cure her. Kiburi abandoned his duty of being a jerkthrob and sat by her side every day, watching over her, comforting her, and sleeping beside her when nightfall came. It was the most selfless he had ever been. After she finally died, Kiburi avoided his tribemates for a few days, keeping to himself. He eventually returned to being his old snobby self, though, and has never mentioned either of his parents. He misses his mother more than he could ever say, though.

Daima My mom. I would never tell anyone this... but I miss her. A lot. She's practically been my best friend since I was born. Yeah, I know, that's not a cool thing to say. Whatever. It's true. Now forget I ever mentioned it.
Shauku I hate him. He's dead to me. Literally dead to me. Because, you know, he's dead. And he was stupid when he was alive. I mean, why the hell would he leave us just to be with some chick from Crooked Tree? She probably wasn't even pretty. And why would he change his name for said ugly cheetah? That's just ridiculous. What was his new name, anyway? Whatever. I don't care. He was such a freak. I hate him.
Chozi I may not actually be related to Chozi, but who cares? The kid's like my little sister. She's a cutie, not to mention she totally adores me. Just wait until I get my paws on that stupid lion that dared to hurt her! I'll... I'll... well, I dunno what I'll do, but it'll be something extremely painful! Yeah!
Usafi Well, I suppose we're friends, since I agreed to her offer of friendship and all. However, I still fail to understand how my good looks did not woo her. Her excuse is that she's not interested in younger cheetahs. Please! She's barely older than me. But oh well. It's probably for the best. She doesn't really seem like my type, anyway.

Crooked Tree
Maisha Saw her at a Moon Meeting once. She's pretty hot. I even tried to flirt with her there, but she ignored me. It was like she didn't even notice my extreme gorgeousness. I know, right? How dare she! But... maybe that's a good thing. I got this weird vibe from her. I mean, she smiled a lot, but she just seemed really... I dunno. Depressed. Pfft, I don't need that baggage, anyway.
Sunning Rocks
Jasiri Um, what an ass. First he ruins my hunting trip, then he insults me multiple times for no reason at all, and then he gives me idiotic advice and acts like he knows me? Pfft. What a stupid gray blob. And to think he actually believes that he's the greatest cheetah of our generation! Please. What a wannabe. That is most certainly my position, thank you very much. And you know, I asked some cheetahs, and it turns out that Blobby lied about his name! It's not whatever he said it was, it's Jasiri. Ugh. He's definitely on my dislike list. I think I'm gonna go tell his girlfriend about this later. That'll definitely ruin his day the way he ruined mine.
Kokoto Ha! She was a laugh! Seriously, you should have heard her ranting on and on about how awful I was. She was seriously worked up. I just kind of sat there all calmly and such, but I wanted to laugh so badly. And then she said something about pitying me? Pfft! She should pity herself! She's definitely not worthy of the great Kiburi.
Trivia
~ He hates canines. In his own words, "I really do not like those canine things. I mean, they're so slobbery and ugly and pointless and ugh."
~ Despite his arrogance, he actually gets along really well with cubs. This is probably due partly to his mother's influence, but mostly he just finds them really entertaining.
~ He thinks love is stupid. In his own words, "Yeah, ok, love exists. But it won't exist for me, trust me. I don't do that whole love thing. Besides, it's disgusting, gross, and lame. Why would anyone ever want to fall in love? Blegh."
~ He also has a huge denial problem.
~ He almost always has a smirk on his face. It's kind of annoying, really.
~ He once had strong feelings for someone, back when he was a Tyro. She was different from others. She didn't exactly fawn over him, nor did she hate him (though she said she did). They would fight constantly, but he had a soft spot for her and would occasionally go out of his way to make her happy. He loved their fights, and he found himself becoming incredibly attracted to her. But after his mother died, he avoided her. He's not entirely sure why. Maybe he was just afraid of getting too close. Whatever the reason, it didn't work out well. The more he avoided her, the more she tried to find out what was wrong, until she eventually just gave up and ignored him. Kiburi will deny this if anyone asks, but that hurt. It hurt a lot. Then, one day, she disappeared. No one could find her. Kiburi mourned the only way he could - by becoming a bigger jerk than ever.
Roleplay example
Well, it certainly was a very nice morning. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, the trees were green and the flowers were growing... and Kiburi's reflection was still as handsome as ever. Kiburi grinned down at himself, waggling his eyebrows around and then striking a quick pose. "My, my, you are gorgeous, aren't you?" He sighed heavily, and slightly over dramatically. "Unfortunately, this can never be between us. Whereas I am a dashing young fellow, you, my friend, are simply my reflection. I love you, but you have to let me go. I'm sorry." Kiburi often spoke ridiculous monologues like this. It was sort of his preparation for the day's work, a.k.a. flirting with every she-cheetah that existed. It was a very important job. It was quite possible that the future of Crowded Water depended on it.
Tearing his gaze away from his reflection, he gave his fur a quick once over and almost had a panic attack when he saw a bit of fur sticking up. Oh, crap! He quickly assessed the horrendous situation, then instantly made what might possibly be a life changing decision. With careful precision, he licked the fur that was stubbornly sticking up, smoothing it down until it finally quit bouncing back up. Satisfied, he grinned. "Perfect." Well, now that his good looks were taken care of, it was time to go search for something to do. Sitting up straight, Kiburi glanced casually around the village, inspecting each cheetah that was wandering around aimlessly. Finally, his gaze settled on one particular cheetah, and he smirked to himself. Jackpot! He stood up and shook his fur, flicking his bangs into his face. Chicks always dug that. Then, with a charming smile on his face, he approached the pretty cheetah, already prepared to win her heart and then, eventually, crush it.
