Description "Move forward!"

She had that annoyingly stubborn edge to her voice.

Normally, Wendy was almost too bubbly, happily sitting with Throbak and chattering away about her days working in Waly's selling civilian-standard SIR units and Voot Riders (a civilian model Voot Runner) and other electronic delights.

Now, though, all hint of bubbles and sunshine was gone, replaced by a hard steely edge that shocked Throbak.

"What do you mean?" he asked, his jagged voice even harsh to his own ears.

"Come with me!" she said, the proximity of her voice telling him that she'd shifted positions and was likely glaring right into his face. He wasn't sure why she did that; she knew full-well that he couldn't see her.

"Why?" he asked, leaning against the wall, his left arm, his only remaining limb, picking up a piece of the machine he'd been building and tossing it away. "I've accepted my fate. My Existence Evaluation will come up one of these years, and I'll be found to be a faulty irken and tossed aside, end of story."

"It doesn't have to be that way!" Wendy said, shouting now, but the constant din of noise that this planet produced all but drowned it out. "You could come with me to earth, where the Empire doesn't exist, where the Tallest can't reach you, because you're off the map! I've seen you building this stuff, seen you use that PAK to actually move around, to see the world around you. You haven't given up, even if you wanna fool yourself into believing you have. You want to live, you're just too scared to take this chance."

"I'm not scared," Throbak grunted, staring unseeingly at his hand.

"Prove it," Wendy said, her voice daring him now. "If you're so resigned to your death anyway, put up a fight. It all leads to the same end, anyway. Come with me to Earth, and maybe you could even start a new life, do something with this gift you have for building."

"Why are you so bent on me coming with you?" Throbak asked, and Wendy fell silent. For a moment, Throbak didn't think she had an answer, but he mentally chided himself; Wendy always had something to say.

"You're my friend," she said after a few minutes' silence. "I don't wanna leave you here, all depressed and alone. I just...couldn't live with myself if I did."

He'd rather she'd smacked him across the face. Her words were so tender, so...raw, that he could've sworn he felt an actual physical pain in his chest.

"Fine," he said.

She was quiet for minute. "Hm?"

"Fine!" he repeated himself, extending his PAK legs and lifting himself off the ground, his legs constantly clicking up and down, sending out waves that bounced back and told him of his surroundings. She also stood and faced him. He couldn't make out her features, but he knew she was smiling somehow.

"You'll come with me?" she asked, and Throbak rolled his eyes.

"This Earth had better be amazing," he grumbled, and she gave a small cheer, stepping between his PAK legs to hug him. He let a noise of distaste but made no effort to push her away.

"It will be, I promise," she insisted, taking his hand and leading him down the alley and to their new lives.

I wrote that little story at like one in the morning on very little sleep, so pardon if it's a bit lacking.

Throbak and Wendy discuss leaving the planet Nya and traveling to Earth, where in my story, Dib had triumphed over (read: killed) Zim and freed Earth from his inept invasion. Sadly for the would-be invader, his death is little mourned, and the Tallest took his lack of contact with absolutely no concern. Zim was forgotten within months.

Several years later, a rogue irken looking for a planet to escape the Empire came across a mere ghost of a file talking about Earth, a planet that the Tallest barely acknowledged. Tracking down all data about the planet, he purged Earth from the archives and made a beeline for the planet, deciding that if any other races wanted to give his new home trouble, he'd have his say. In time, he contacted some of his fellows, and Earth became a sort of refuge for "flawed" irkens who didn't quite match the ideal "Invader" persona. Within ten years, Earth held quite a large undercover population of irkens, who eventually came forward with their existence, telling the humans that they only wanted to live in peace and would work alongside them with their advanced technology.

The End.

tl;dr: Zim is dead, Earth is now home to rogue irkens, that's where these two are going

And yes, bright neon pink lighting. I like it.

I dunno, I suppose he could've been killed by his own ineptitude or the military. Really, I just needed Zim to die for the story to continue.
