Description
After drawing and sketching and pencil testing and hurting my hand for what seemed like forever, I finally finished! What did I finish, you ask? Well, watch and see for yourself!
I am very proud of what I did! It's not much, but I'm proud! Animation is one of my favorite hobbies! Basically, I drew all of the animation on paper (so...much...paper
), (keyframes and inbetweens were all drawn by me). Then I scanned in the cels and colored/put it together on Toon Boom Studio.How did this come about? Well, I'm a big Burns/Smithers shipper. (Or, according to , I'm a Burnsmithers fan! ^_^) And I thought it'd be romantic for them to ballroom dance together (I love ballroom dancing too!) In this animation, I imagined them dancing to either "Let There Be Love" by Nat King Cole or "Strangers in the Night" by Frank Sinatra.
Originally, this was suppose to be much longer and this would have been the final scene. But I was just so excited to finish this scene, I had to show it to you guys! Right now, I don't know if I'll continue. If I do, consider this a preview. If I don't...then enjoy this as the finished project!

Oh! I really hope you guys know that that's a fountain behind them! I tried my best to animate the water and make it look like a fountain. >_<

The way you drew their expressions and such, it seem perfectly in character. Sometimes when I'm writing for them, I have to redo a scene twenty times because Burns' initiating seems so difficult to picture actually happening on the show. The way you have him kiss Smithers is how he would kiss Smithers if he actually kissed Smithers...get my drift?
Nice animation. I've taken classes in animation, and it's tough to get the timing right. While it isn't totally smooth, you did a good job of having them spin faster and then pause and kiss slower. The only problem with the kiss was (as with Lisa the Skeptic) that it didn't last long enough. But it lasts long enough that you get the sense of a sweet emotional depth and sincerity, which to come from Burns and be in character is quite the difficult thing to pull off.

Muahaha, yesss, we can be dorks together! (has to admit that she watches the commentary for every episode that has even the most trivial bit of Burnsmithers in it). The commentaries can be so entertaining. I was just watching the commentary for Simpson and Delilah in Season 2, and they were talking about how Burns and Smithers were probably the two characters that made them laugh the most, and then something about how people kept turning in script ideas for the two of them but they seemed to get rejected all the time for some reason. So sad! Think how many more episodes there could have been with them in it!! Ahahaha.
