I remember most of my teenage life being rather hectic. Ghost attacks, high school homework assignments, romance, among other things that don't immediately come to mind.

Sam and I started dating during our sophomore year of high school. It all started with a kiss, just before I flew off, thinking that we might never see each other again, and her handing me an old class ring I had once asked her to hold onto. A few days later, while the rest of the town was celebrating the fact that the world didn't end, she and I were off by ourselves, and I asked her to be my girlfriend.

We were steady for about two years, but the longer it went on, the more our relationship seemed like puppy love.

We broke up a few weeks after our senior prom. A few months later, we were both off at college in separate parts of the country. We kept in contact, mostly through e-mail and the occasional phone call, but there was really nothing between us at the time.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and during my junior year, I found myself quite frequently thinking about what I had once said to her, that early-spring evening, just after the world didn't end.

"I could never have done any of this without you. And I don't care what's coming next. I just hope that, whatever it is, you're there to share it with me."

The more I thought about it, the more I realized I had meant every single word.

It took a while to work up the courage, but finally, I proposed to her, over our winter break. I'm quite certain that the look she gave me when I finally asked was her way of saying, "What took you so long?" To this day, she still calls me the Clueless Wonder.

Three years have passed, and we recently had our first child. She's not even a year old, yet, but already we're seeing little bits of each other in her.

My life has been crazy, I won't deny that. And I still don't know what the future holds for me, for us.

Would I live through it all over again? Every worry and fear? Every triumph and joy? Every moment that I was scared out of my mind?

In a heartbeat.

I felt the urge to draw some fluff recently, and I realized I haven't done many pictures of Danny and Sam as adults.
