Description SORRY STEVE....I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF!

left : Actor, "Jeremy Sumpter", as "Peter Pan" in the 2003
Movie of the same title. Great movie that no one saw!

right : Poet and Writer, "Steve", of "ddrcoke21" fame.
Who is our DeviantArt friend and is so very talented!

When I first saw Steve's ID photo, something bothered me!
"Who does this "Steve" remind me of"? The other night I
saw the Movie "Peter Pan" for the 5th time, on DVD, and
"Shazam"! I got it! Steve of "ddrcoke21" fame, DOES remind
me of Actor "Jeremy Sumpter" who was almost 13 years
old in this poster photo! ......"Kinda-Sorta". Steve's older,

I think they could be Brothers!............What do you think?

I can see how that can be true! But at a glance......even though the "Actor" was a little
younger then, than Steve is now! That Actor is around 20 y.o. now. I wish you would see that movie!

I'm practically dieing here from not saying all the possible things such as, "yeah, they'll both never grow up!". But that'd be rude, they do look quite similar. They could be in that book that guy is writing about facial similarities!

Thanks Holly for being the first and, and I'll bet, the only one to comment on this "Stunt"!
Though someone DID "snap-it-up" as a "Fave"! Did you happen to see this version of "Peter Pan?
It's the best one that I've seen! (to be off-topic) And that includes Disney's Classic 1953
animated version. It's out-their on DVD....See it!....It would be fun to know what "The Great One"
thinks of my comparison....but I never will....I didn't even think about the "Peter Pan" comparison!
I didn't mean to insult "Mr. Wonderful"! I hope he's not offended! It's just his looks compared to
an Actor!

Haha. I saw one version of the play, and the other in a cartoon, but that's it. I like tinker bell though. When I was little I was afraid of peter pan! Yikes, I had a couple nightmares about him!

Well, I think you would enjoy the 2003 "live-action" movie version!
The casting was "Drop-Dead" spot-on! The one to watch is "Hook" who
was awesome! He also played the Kids Father! The unique thing about
this Movie verson, is that this was the first time that a real Boy
was cast as "Pan"! The tradition is that they always cast young women
to play Pan! And for the first time, there's a kind of "sexual-tension"
Between Wendy and Pan! And it worked! The overall production looks very
expensive and beautiful! They made it look like art and like "Live-action"!
The musical score is so gorgeous......Get it on DVD! It's so good, I was surprised!
Tinker Bell is wild and so funny. Trust me on this! Just see it!

Hook played the father and the villian? Weird... But I might be able to see it.

Yes he did play both Hook and Mr. Darling, (the Father). That guy is some terrific actor!
I didn't "catch" that fact until the middle of the Movie, the second time I saw it!
The whole story in this 2003 live-action version centers around "Wendy"! She is the Focal
point in the Movie. It works well. I liked that approach! Her father is a kinda cold person
especially towards his children....Before "Pan" shows up, Wendy is into "Hook" from the story
in a book! She admired her father but He's distantly cold. I guess the film makers designed
it so that Wendy "Saw" her Dad in "Hook". It worked well! Hook did have some redeeming
qualities....Then "Pan" shows up, and he "falls" for Wendy! But she's more into "Hook", when
she sees him! "Hook" "Falls" for Wendy....The Girl they cast as "Wendy" was a "Doll-Face"!
"Peter Pan" is the big Hero in the movie, and they cast the perfect "kid" for that part, but
the whole thing revolves around "Wendy's" point of view! With this version and the way it was
designed, made me finally understand the subtle points of that story! "Pan" is immortal, for
one thing! The rest you can "Find-out". It's a little sad....But I like that. Please see it!

Yeah..doesn't Wendy go back home at the end?

glenninacrypt In reply to AberrationLust [2009-08-11 15:46:57 +0000 UTC]

oh yes! She does go home. This Movie does stick to the original story! but this 2003 version brings-out
some subtle details and feelings that I haven't seen or felt before. That end-scene you speak of, mixes
happiness with a-kind-of sadness that works so well! There is a deleted end-scene that has "Pan" return
years later when Wendy is an adult! "Pan" appears before her Girl and Wendy walks in and sees "Pan" and
knows exactly why he's there and gives her blessing to her Kid to have the adventure that She once had
with "Pan"! It's kinda eerie, but I like that! I'd love to send you a DVD copy for your collection....But
I guess that wouldn't be "right". It's the casting that's great! I just really want you to see This Great
"Piece-of-Art!" It's out-there. But if you can't find it, I'll get it to you some how! Just cay the "word"!

Yes there was! It was one of those that "Pixar" did a few tears ago! I saw a preview
of it, and It didn't look good! It seemed to be geared-to 8 year-old's. I wouldn't bother!
