Description This was an art project from oh.... Grade 11. The idea was to draw a self portrait and then show the steps of transformation into an animal of your choice. Here I become the tigress.

I remember doing that project. I think I ended up throuwing it out, didn't like it terribly much. Only things I saved from last year would be the enlargement, the large flower project, and my final piece. Garfield still makes me laugh.

...he won't let me bring anything home yet!!! Curse you Gibson!

I wish that my art would stay visible and in one piece that long, it all magically gets damaged when it's in my bag.

I have one solution; a binder with page protectors.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Ragnulfr In reply to glennoar [2005-02-08 02:07:32 +0000 UTC]

Ya, I know the book will also smear. It's just that the moisture round here can get to the picks and degrade them quickly. When there in sheet protectors, the moisture gets held in. When I move back to AZ, the smearing should be greatly reduced. Not to mention that I'm carrying about my body weight and a half on my back. All the text books a have to carry round get shoved in my backpack when class ends (if I’m late for class, even just a few sec, I'll get written up. soon that becomes a suspension); it takes its toll on my papers in my backpack. On top of that I have to carry my soda in the same place I keep all my paper, and the moisture of it adds to the deterioration of the paper. I feel like blowing the school up, or doing the next Columbine sometimes at school because the teachers have no f-ing clue what there talking about (they make us take notes on stuff that isn't on the test then blame us for not having the right notes that they never gave us). Now I know better than doing something like that, but it's just a feeling. All the good drawing ideas I have that have just faded away and have never retuned because I don't have time to draw them just gets on my nerves. Anyways, sorry bout ranting, just every day puts so much phisical and mental stress that if I don't let at least some out, it could add up to the bad thoughts coming true.

I hear you.

For me, I use one note book for all of my subjects. It never fails; just stash the hand outs in the proper subject sections in the notebook and it stay's somewhat organized. Less hassle than having to pull out separate binders.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ragnulfr In reply to glennoar [2005-02-08 20:43:26 +0000 UTC]

I get too much crap to put in 1 binder; I have a 1" binder that is on the brink of exploding as we speak. I'm guessin I should just get one of those hard cased binders you snap shut for my stuff. I have one at the moment, but I keep all my RP papers in it. But like I said, I'll get it all figured out sooner or later.

Now for a different subject, I know something that'll prove my teachers are stupid, or at least my 2nd block teacher. We were in class today talking about predation; a kid mentioned how snakes and eagles are natural enemies, like mongooses and cobras. She said 'I didn't know that eagles and snakes were enemies.' The kid replied 'ya, they are, just look at the Mexican flag.' She answered 'Oh, I’ve never seen that movie' she then started talking about what to do if a snake were chasing you, she was saying that snakes go out of there way to hunt you. Later we were talking about the human body, I said that men where more physically built in muscles, she tried to argue with me that that wasn't true, that women were more built than men. On top of all that, she started talking about the increase of animal populations around the world, she was saying that within 3-5 years, animals would over take us and take the land back. She proceeded to say that since most foods have some amount of peanut butter in it, that elephants would soon make humans starve to death from eating all the food. She said that 2 elephants could eat an entire grocery store. One last thing, she believes fish are amphibians.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

glennoar In reply to Ragnulfr [2005-02-09 05:29:24 +0000 UTC]

Fish were long thought to be part of the amphibious family, seeing as there are mud fish, and eels that will navigate across dry terrain to find water, but they've since recieved their own phylum.

Men are naturally built with more muscle in their upper body and legs; back in the day, they were the hunters and the fighters. Women are more built in the abdomen because we have to give carry fetus' and give birth. Women do however have an extra layer of fat; to provide nourishment for the developing fetus during starvation, etc.

There is no way that animals will overtake us at the way we're populating and consuming. If anything, we as man kind are going to push all animal life off of the face of the earth. We are spreading across the earth and literally raping it of it's resources.

I use a 4" binder for my art. Actually, I have two 4" binders that are full of drawings.

Ragnulfr In reply to glennoar [2005-02-09 21:59:42 +0000 UTC]

I totally agree with you (especially the part about the humans), I try telling her this stuff and she tries to make me look stupid. There are only about 4 people (counting me) out of 20 something that actually knows this crap in class, and 2 of them are my friends. I feel I’m loosing brain cells in school, just in her class alone I feel like I lose 100-200 a day. Worst of all, I'm in classes I'll never use most likely. Except for German, I have English II, Algebra I, and Biology. I know that I'll never have a job that I need to use Algebra, English, and doubtfully Biology. I hate that I'm on a knife-edge of dropping out. Without Eden here to keep me in-line doing my work and making the day bearable, I can barley live day to day without hurting myself from physical and mental stress. I believe I've torn my (left) knee, cracked one to both collarbones, cracked a rib or three, re-fractured both my ankles, and now have brain damage from all the stupidity. If I fall asleep anymore, I forget everything I might have leaned that day. But that is if I can sleep, it's been about a month and I've gotten about a total of 8-16 hours of sleep. I'm always sick to my stomach, and have to force myself to eat otherwise I might be dead now from starvation. All this adds up to a breaking point that is very stressed right now that surprises me it hasn't yet broken. Only thing that has kept me hanging by a thread this entire time is that I might see Eden over summer, and living there eventually. I wish that I wouldn't have to vent so much here (which tends to make me look like a poser-goth), but I have no other place to go that I feel I can trust more than people I don't know personally. I thank ever one for putting up with my whining, and other crap I never intend to tell any one alive that has just came out. I can’t make any promises, but I’ll try to vent here as little as possible.

Anyways, back to my stupid teacher, today she told us that were NOT having a test Friday, but were having a test Friday. Then went rambling on for 20 min how were having a test Friday and what was on it just to say, "Never mind, were not having a test Friday." Also I believe she is starting to hate me because I try to correct her on her mistakes about nature she often makes. I only wish I knew why she believes the Mexican flag is a movie.

I've tried that before, all it does is delay the degradation of my stuff for about a week, then the pictures start to smear and look really bad. I might just get a new drawing book, those usually stay in one piece for about a year before falling apart. But since I don't have a normal scanner, I wouldn't be able to put the picks up very often. So I’ll figure out something next time I go to the Super Wal-Mart down the road, should have enough money left over after I buy what I need there for a new collar.

One slight thing: as a thumbnail, it's too small to see clearly, and at full-size, it's really quite large. :\ Therefore hard to view properly. Still, very cool.
