Description

Something of a different post than my usual. From time to time, I do think it's good, for me at least, to write out something about what I’m working on to help better solidify my thoughts about my current direction. I still feel as though I haven’t fully found my style and haven't learned enough to really feel solid about my current ability. Maybe that’s an unreachable goal. Or maybe it's better to always feel like you could do better. Either way, I figure that you just have to keep trying to better yourself regardless. I am still planning to have a t-shirt design printed for the shop. Sadly, I just haven’t felt confident in any design yet and so I am taking my time on the next one in hopes of changing that. In the meantime, I spent some time doing a bit of practice and experimentation rather than solely focusing on the next design attempt.
Color is not my greatest strength as of right now, though I do think I am slowly improving. I have been actively trying to put some more focus on improving my color palettes and overall painting knowledge/ability, so why not return to a previous design and focus solely on that aspect of my art. I did make some minor changes to the lineart, but it is mostly the same as I felt this design was strong originally. I need to try and be more consistent about posting more regularly and so this is one idea of a way to help facilitate that without trying to rush new artwork. Though I usually only like posting final versions, I might do more lineart vs full color posts in the future or even some work in progress posts, but I’m not fully decided either way. Feel free to let me know what you think and also if there are any other older art pieces that you think deserve another look or update.
