----first of all, i hope everyone had a merry x mas!
this is a commission piece i did on x mas eve...
it was a private client and he wanted it done so badly before x mas! i was so glad that it all went well and landed in on time!!
i do alot of commission pieces -of anything you really want-
feel free to private note me or email me about it.
i was not going to post this but i liked how it turned out considering the rushiness of it
i usually dont post ANY of my commission work online anywhere including devinat art
there is a whole pile of commission work stacked at home, i dont submit it because people pay me to do it, and prefer if others dont snatch it for free...
sounds fair enough.
again sorry for the watermarks... someone else is out there ripping my stuff again for money.

I think you need to make big watermarks that cover the whole picture. Like mulitple stamps, because if I wanted to steal this, I would just crop the picture that is between the watermark text (since I would say, the face is pretty much the main part). If I were you I would make the text larger and going vertical multiple times (atleast 3), it would suck because the watermarks get in the way of a good picture but then again, people has to remember that if they buy a print or ask for a commision they wont get watermarks. You work way too hard for this to be taken as mere candy especially since the majority is done traditionally.

you are right about the cropping
but in my mind to crop the image between the watermakrs -your missing the best parts of the picture-
sure the face is the main focus but if i were to steal this work myself i would want the whole image in -not just the cropable part- because there is so much more to the picture ...
i dont want to watermark my stuff so much...its pretty lame! but it is indeed what has to be done i suppose *you are right*
at the end of the day most kiddies who steal my work simply trace shit... so watermarks dont help at all there anyway...
i felt pretty slack to watermark this because it is a portrait of someone inparticular... and for people to claimi it would be a bit silly -but i dont underestimate the wankers out there!!! lol
it sucks big time...but that is true...that if you buy my work it is watermark free...
respect artists.
at the end of the day all my work was my own mind and my own hands that created it... people can try and try all there might to steal and feel good about it -if thats anyone reading this now- good for you

When you say they trace it? are you being literal? like they actually print it out and trace it? if so, wow thats just pathetic. Unless your speaking of looking at it and drawing their own thing while using 99% of what you have there, theyre still stupid (i find it like cheating themselves). Speaking of this particular drawing, you said that you dont usually post commisions you make for other people, that is a good move in a way because someone BOUGHT that, its special to them because its made FOR them. But posting it on a place that has many dishonest people, it can be stolen and if I were the person who has purchased it, i would feel like an idiot, because someone else has it in a way. Now, of course, he/she has the original (do you give them the originals or do you atleast keep a copy for yourself?) so it still has more value (to the customer, or even in general). Its hard because of course, you are an artist who wants to get out there, you have to put your work out there, but it SUCKS because dumb kids try to in a way, sabotage it. Maybe, you'll have to just ignore it, its YOURS no matter what anyways, because if you think about other careers, your going to deal with "haters" or people who are going to try to take you down, maybe its like that, its a struggle to get to the top. Im not sure but i think i wrote alot, im so sorry haha.

Damn, this is beautiful. The colors, the imagery, the composition...I wish you'd post some of your other commissions. It's still YOUR artwork, and I'd love to see it. I don't post all of my commissions, but the ones I'm really proud of...you better believe I post those suckers.

i would LOOOVE to post more of my commissions because the majority im soo happy with!
i am pretty lucky because most of the jobs i have to do are very -my kinda stuff- as in the jobs i really love to do!
so i do indeed belive its still my own work
i dont submit them because people pay alot of money and most of them are tattoo designs...
i once posted a tatt design someone paid me to do for them online here...
and the client didnt mind that i post it online
since then ***SEVEN*** other people have got the exact same tattoo designed inked on them
thats cool by me! but it would suck if you paid $200 for a custom tatt design/commission and seven others flunked it for free.
i dont post the images usually by the clients request... and that way you can charge a bit more for custom work if at the end of the day NO ONE ELSE will see it unless the client shows friends or what not.
its pretty secret under the rock stuff!!! lol

honestly, massive right in the middle of the picture, watermarks do not detract from the picture. if i were you, i'd paste big nasty ones all over my work, so no more stealies.

I love all the pretty flowers around her, the colours are so warm around her pale face.

if you have alot of cool colours throw some warm ones in...it really brings it to life!
