At first glance, Conrad may be considered too friendly for a sentry, always greeting those who come to Maelstrom's walls with needless pleasantries and gabs about "the nice weather they're having" before going into business. Around base, he radiates a very playful charisma, often teasing his colleagues and cracking jokes to pass the time while also remaining kind and respectable. If found in a troublesome situation with other humans, he defaults to charm to get himself out of it. He prides himself in his ability to seamlessly lie; his reputation as a trustworthy man doesn't really hurt either.

Unfortunately, Conrad's friendly demeanor is not synonymous to compassion.

Behind all the smiles and jokes, this man is all business. It is rare for him to show mercy in his line of work, even when it comes to women and children. Emotional attachments of any kind are relatively non-existent and the few connections he may have are very surface-level. If he is ordered to, he will not hesitate to sacrifice someone to save his own skin or for the greater good of the faction. No matter the scale of his misdeeds, he has never expressed any remorse from stepping over people and has always carried out his actions with a smile. Some in Maelstrom are aware of Conrad's actual cold-hearted nature, but contrary to popular belief, he does not try to conceal it, nor is his friendly personality fabricated. His so-called kindness just tends to distract people from what is really there...

HISTORY ///    "The booze would've ate his guts out if the walkers hadn't done so first."
Not much is known about Conrad's past. When asked about his life before the outbreak, he would mention how he and his old man never stayed in one place for too long, and that he moved out as soon as he got the chance. He openly admits that his father wasn't the nicest person and he thoroughly enjoyed watching him bleed out and turn into a walker.

Conrad joined Maelstrom only a month after the outbreak started. Along the way, he had adjusted surprisingly well despite it being so sudden. He was luckily agile enough to elude the walkers and had zero qualms taking advantage of naive survivors, often stealing from them while killing others to survive. He thought the only reason he got so far was because no one was there to weigh him down.

His encounter with the ruthless faction finally occurred when he stopped at their lake for a drink, after which they seized and captured him on suspicion of being a spy from another faction. Using some choice words, Conrad managed to convince them that he was there join their community, narrowly avoiding his potential execution in the process. A few months pass, and Conrad has found the advantages of being in a group. He enjoys the sense of security and being able to live comfortably. He has demonstrated a deep-rooted loyalty for the faction that makes it hard for others see that he is untrustworthy, but this behavior could just be his shameless determination to save his own skin.
