Theuthanos series: under a crescent axe

"...and when the flesh of his enemies were crushed under his might, their blood drunk and their souls devoured, he gazed upon the field of the battle that was now over. So many men, so many fools, so many victims to the lies of their kings. Had they not been told that their fight was just, and that their gods would grant them victory? Did they not believe that each and every one of them would rise in glory, in this life or the next, and that they would be remembered for eternity for their valour and loyalty? Theuthanos raised his axe, the last thing seen by the thousands of warriors that were now nothing more than rotting memories of lives, hopes and despairs, and shouted with the voice of ancient thunder, like a distant trembling from the core of the universe: 'You were wrong! You were fooled! You thought you would be remembered, but your women are already shivering in pleasure in someone else's bed chamber! Your children are already denouncing your existence! You are all forgotten by everyone but me! You were sent here by your kings who are themselves too afraid to leave even the throne room, but your last service was to me and my axe - your powers and strenghts are now mine, and I know you all better than you ever knew yourself! You were my enemies, ready to kill me, but I took your flesh, your blood and your souls and made them mine, and with me, you will be victorious forever to the end of time and beyond!'"
