Have had this sitting in my stash for quite some time... Mostly because I am not altogether happy with it. *sigh* It has color... and color is my enemy! Grrr... Anyway, this is Jurre's Mother, Haena. Sadly, Jurre and Haena were not close. She preferred his brother to him. Another knife in the wound, so to speak.Art and OC © Gnewi

Oooo...I haven't seen any pics of her before! She's gorgeous, very beautiful but very fierce looking too- I love all the the small details, like the gold teardrops on her cheeks and the ring below her lip. I adore the floral pattern on her gown and her sceptre is really elegant and elven- I bet it serves as a great weapon too!

That might be an artist thing. We know how we want it to look in our heads, so when we look at the actual image we're mad at it.

I love to draw traditionally, with paper and pencil (because I usually forget where I left the eraser)
but I'm terribly at pencil coloring. It's like a curse. Digital is far easier for me, but in paper is just like a horror movie.
This year's resolution is practice a lot with pencil coloring, so hope I can find time between study and the commissions...

Oh my, she looks fierce! In both meanings of the word, tough but also stately and regal, like a queen who knows what she wants for her people. It is a shame that everyone seems to turn away from Jurre eventhough he technically was the rightful heir

I think a lot of the turning away was in Jurre's mind. His mother was probably the only one who was truly like that. I think it more his bitterness (and hurt) that "saw" it in the rest of them. This is probably more information then you wanted but...
