Something not too complicated and for fun. My version of Tiger Lily.
I hope you like her.I do plan on being back again here... I know I have been pretty absent the past few weeks. Long hours at work, and some health issues, but I hope to have both resolved soon.

*le gasp* This is AMAZING!!!! And so much more in keeping with her ethnic origin than that stupid 'Pan' film that's come out recently. *sighs and shakes head* I love her red body/face paint/tattoos, so well done and I love her sorrowful but defiant gaze- it makes her such a courageous heroine and really defines this piece. The hair...oh the hair! As always is fantastic! And I love, love, love the added detail of the lilies in the background, you've got the earthy,bronze shades spot on so that they compliment the piece without detracting from the foreground. Fantastic work hon!

I haven't seen the new Pan movie yet! You did not like it so much? I wondered what it would be like. My favorite version of the story right now is the 2003 movie. Is Pan worth seeing?

You would like it. The natives are all white. Hook is a 'good guy'. Peter is half-human and half-fairy.
However, the only thing good about it is Peter's backstory, when he was sent to a boys' home and live for 12 years until he was captured and sent to Neverland.

She looks brilliant, and kind of mournful. I love the colour choices for her, with the earthy tones, offset with the vibrant red and white. I actually recently watched the Disney Peter Pan and was a little shocked at the really blatant racism, it kind of made me gasp a bit! But personally I always thought Tigerlily was so much prettier than stupid boff whining Wendy, I also would have smacked the tar out if Peter Pan abducting me to basically be a slave!
I always liked Captain Hook, watching that just made me like him even more compared to Peter!

I actually haven't watched the Disney Peter Pan for so long! Unfortunately, I am not surprised about the racism... It was made in the early 50s which was a time when there was quite a bit of racism here.

I saw it on tv about a month ago and was taking a trip down nostalgia lane, only now my eyes were more open to everything and I was like "Oh my goodness!" - but it's all a part of history and I don't believe anyone should change it.Β Making remakes that are more in touch with our social views now is a good idea, but to go and erase the old versions (like Fantasia), is erasing chunks of history. I wouldn't afflict Peter on her, he was an ass (watching it now I realise that lol), Wendy was a whiner but at least she stood up to him, the jerk-face lol (I am now verbally assaulting the childhood crush of many little girls - myself NOT included)
Tiger Lily was only in it for about ten minutes, but everyone always remembers her, she was great.
