Nebula glared at the little bug, Mantis was a point of frustration for the blue goddess. When she was her old self, the big eyed woman barely registered on her radar, another tag along for her sister’s band of

misfits. She dissolved into the background... and yet, now, staring at the timid creature, she realized how much she disliked the girl. She had so much power, enough to hold a cosmic god at bay and, if she wanted to, she could potentially even have stopped Nebula’s tyrant of a father if she had the chance. That fact alone was enough to make her wary of the creature.
“Please Nebula,” Mantis spoke again, “this isn’t the real you... the real you-“
“Don’t come to me speaking of true selves and other nonsense,” Nebula pointed the glove at Mantis, the girl flinching at the gesture. She was going to turn the insignificant insect into a form that better fit HER true self... when another thought slipped into her head. She softened her expression, eyes staring down at Mantis, “You... you really think I’m a good person?” she asked softly.
Mantis perked up, sensing the shift in her friend’s voice. “Y-yes, I have sensed your emotions before... though you are quite unkind and impulsive, at your core you are only lonely...” her antennae began to glow as she held her hand out, “even now, I sense a longing... deep inside you...” a tear slipped down her cheek.
Nebula held the glove behind her back, “You can feel that... even from such a distance?” She looked away and down, her bare hand slipping over her lips ashamedly.
“Yes, I can sense strong emotions even from far away,” her antennae began to glow brighter, “and... and I have never felt such a deep longing before...” Mantis felt strange. The emotions of others have certainly affected her before, but this time... she almost felt like she could feel the emotion as if it were her own... so pure...
“Do... do you feel anything else?” Nebula questioned, snapping Mantis back.
“Oh, yes... I can feel... a hunger in you...” Mantis stared deeper, licking her lips. She had expected a more emotional hunger, like for acceptance or for her sister’s acknowledgment, but this... this was a more pure hunger. The insect woman’s stomach growled before she clenched her hand over it. So hungry, need... need food... she felt her thoughts wavering she... she wanted to hunt... her tongue ran over her teeth and she noticed they felt sharper... the elongated canines of a predator. “What... what is this? You can’t be feeling this...” Mantis looked up to Nebula, a horrifying flicker shot through her mind as she considered what the blue alien would taste like.
“Oh? Do you not believe what I’m feeling?” Nebula lowered her hand to reveal her smile. “I have only been honest with you... perhaps it’s not me you’re reading?”
Mantis gasped and fell to her knees, arms wrapped around her stomach as drool dripped from her lips. “S-so hungry... starving...” her large eyes went wide as she felt her growing nails digging into her flesh. “No creature could feel this... this need!” She cried out as her body began to tremble, her clothes feeling tight against her flesh.
“No, that is correct... nothing that exists could ever feel what you’re feeling,” Nebula placed her hand on her hip and raised the other, showing the gauntlet and the brightly glowing Gold infinity stone, “you will be the first...”
Mantis’s eyes widened as she tried to speak, but only grunts and hisses escaped her lips before she could form the words. Her whole body was on fire, the most primal emotion was overtaking her. Beneath her dress, a thick tail began to grow, raising and rending her outfit until she was left naked, kneeling before Nebula. “Please... frrrnd... you must stop this... I only... wanted trrrr hrrrrp....”
“Oh but you WILL help me, my DEAR FRIEND” Nebula purred, clenching her gloved hand as the Mind Stone glowed brighter, “you will be invaluable to me as a new weapon...”
A weapon!? Mantis thought, though the words seemed hazy as her growing taloned feet dug at the ground of her platform. She clawed at her chest, claws unable to harm her thickening hide. She... she was so hungry...” her eyes darted around, she needed to hunt... spiked plates began to grow down her back, her hindquarters gaining mass that only made her hungrier.
“Mmm yes, feel it... feel the hunger, my pet,” Nebula purred as she watched the bug girl’s flesh warp into a massive reptilian form. She revealed in the Beast’s massive form, something reminiscent of the Earthen prehistoric denizens, but so much larger. The beast’s growls and grunts echoed through the air, dripping with hunger and need. The creature’s eyes grew duller, pupils dilated in a purest bloodlust. “Mmm, dear Mantis, are you in there?” Nebula asked mockingly, but the beast didn’t pay her any mind, massive form turning and searching. “Good, then you are ready for your first meal...” she raised the Infinity Gauntlet and a portal opened revealing an alien metropolis, sprawling with massive buildings and futuristic technology. The Beast’s antennae lifted, glowing as she sensed the food... “that’s it pet,” Nebula smiled as the Gargantuan creature walked through the portal, giving out a horrific roar that shattered windows and cracked the pavement,
“Bon Appetit!”
