Description
This is a character portrait for the Ordos Speaker. It was developed for the Dune: War of the Spice project as a class assignment for TAD's Composition and Color II class (www.theartdepartment.org). The class was a fantastic experience, taught my Marshall Vandruff who is a phenomenal teacher.

The character is not a singular being, it's a networked intelligence housed in a repurposed cadaver, it functions as a mouthpiece and an information processor for the Ordos hierarchy. The visual metaphor I was working with on this piece was a broken puppet hanging from its strings. Also the technology that animates it grips the body like a fist.
