Done for 's b-day today Aerith is his favorite animated female-type character, or at least, was the last time I checked, might have changed since then It left me with a little dilemma, though. There's already a lot of really great Aerith art out there, so what could I do to put my own spin on it?

Well, as I said on the Jim piece, I'm really into the whole surf culture thing and being that she has the flower thing going for her already, I thought it might work. The title comes from a Dorthy Lamour movie, 'Aloma of the South Seas.' The piece itself isn't related to that film aside from the tropical locale, but it seemed the perfect way to describe this somewhat unorthodox version Made a nice oportunity to play with some more Painter techniques, too

So at any rate, Aerith/Aeris from Final Fanasy VII 'tropical-ized'
