Sorry, sorry, sorry....
I think I still owe some more apologies, I know this is woefully late. Some projects came up for work that just could not wait. Hopefully, one day I can share on that front, but for now, please accept my apologies.

Like past years, starting September 9th, everyone was invited to vote on the theme for the ' people's choice' piece for this year. Everyone seemed to agree on Steampunk, but the vote for the sub-theme was almost dead even between Pirate, Circus, and Magic. Since it was so close, and this piece is all about you guys, I decided the only fair thing was to combine all three. I really have to thank you all for the challenge because it was both exasperating and fun to figure out.

So here is your steampunk pirate ex-circus performer walking a tightrope being held up by her ex-circus compatriot, the snake/rope charmer. Wow, say that three times fast A train seemed to be a nice steampunk version of a ship, and the skull mounted on the front seemed to be more practical than a flag. I researched some old turn of the century circus costumes for the outfit, but of course, goggles are a must for steampunk and I couldn't resist adding as many buckles as possible

In any case, like I said, this piece is by and for you guys, thanks for another fabulous year. I know I sound like a broken record, but I don't think I'll ever feel like it is said enough, I owe you guys more than just a piece a year. You keep me motivated and on my toes, keep me trying new things (oh yeah, playing with gouache and wood now and combining the retro and the chibi thing), you inspire me, you encourage me, you astound me with your own skill and keep me always aspiring to improve. Don't you think all that is worth repeating a few times? I sure do. You guys are incredible and I'm so grateful there is a community like this around.

On a side note, since you guys are responsible for this one, as soon as the print for this is approved, the price will be set at cost (meaning $0 profit to me) for the first two months. That's through the Holidays and a little bit after. Seemed like the very least I could do.

So anyways, long story short (too late), here's to you guys and another great year
