However, it was kind of you to post the link below this comment with the name of the artist / original image / etc.

Don't worry yourself too much over this. Just give proper credit where credit is due and by all means, inquire / ask the artist or photographer first before customizing their images. Keeps everyone from getting their egos in a twist.

No you weren't ... just a little bit brusque, but not in a mean manner at all.

I don't think that you were aware that this was / is her first upload here on DA and hasn't really become acclimated to the various spoken / unspoken "rules" or "machinations" of how things tend to flow here on DA.
