Description Newly updated to include the new Fine Art products. I also cleaned up the file considerably. The beauty of the new studio frames is this can be hung from any side, so if you don't like the orientation you can just change it.

--

This photograph was shot from under an oddly placed canopy on a nearby building. It's purpose is beyond me as there is no pedestrian access and, unless you are standing directly under it, you cannot see the class canopy above.

i think that the horizontaL eyes draw the eye through the shot perfectLy, and that the shadowing emphasises the space.

I like it. Odd place for a canopy though. Maybe it was supposed to be part of something else but they ran out of time/money? What kind of building is it?

It's a shopping mall. Strange, huh?

That explains it. Malls seem to like to put random stuff in for the sake of putting it in, I think. There are two near me. One's a completely outdoors mall with a big glass elevator in the middle and one has a futurestic connector thingy (which is mostly windows and looks kinda like sea lab or the poster for Life Aquatic) to the parking lot. Sadly, no one can actually use it, because it's not really connected to anything...

But it looks cool...

Maybe that's what they were going for? I dunno. It's a cool pic, though!

I very much like how the shadows add to the whole "feel" of the picture. Very nice work man.

Yeah, you have. I had to resubmit the print to get an extra size on there and it shows up in people's devwatch again.

Thanks for the nice words. I recently purchased a Print of this piece and found it to be less contrasted than I had hoped. I will most likely be playing with the colours and uploading it again...

It never really afects people if they get it in thier inbox if its a good photo like this one.

And i get about 1000 deviations a day in my inbox so its nice to see re-subs incase i missed it the first time.

Yikes. I'll admit I'm a lazy bastard; I only watch the deviations of about 5 people. Beyond that, I just use my mad browsing skills to come across new art.

"He watches 722 people"

me thinks that might be a bit to many, but just think, your one of those speical 700. Browsing is always more fun still though you find new people and new styles, but if i didnt watch all these people i would always be thinking ive missed something good.

the thing that really makes this picture is the fact that those lines are carried to the wall and the floor by means of the sunlight. They are like continuous lines. Really really interesting and nice

Very interesting. I like the angle it's at. The black/white scheme is way cool. What camera did you use?

P.S. Thankyou for responding to "Please!!!!". I totally appreciate it!

Thank you. I used my Canon EOS 3000 for the shot. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

As for your "Please" thread, my pleasure. I'm only sorry I couldn't close it and redirect you properly and professionally before some people had a chance to make nasty comments. Don't let them get you down (though it looks like you aren't anyway); there will always be insecure jerks out there trying to ruin other people's day.

I see you like to end your posts with "May the force be with you". Seeing as you're new to dA, I'm wondering if you know how to set a signature. You can set "May the force be with you" and the emoticon as your signature by following the instructions here - FAQ #101: How can I add a signature?

Welcome to dA again. I really do hope you come to love it as much as the rest of us!

This is a very nice capture of shapes and shadows. I really love all the patterns, with mostly rectangles, set off by the curves of the canopy and the diagonal shadows on brick wall.

Great work!

That's pretty cool. Is it Sunridge? How did you find it if it's so obscurely placed?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

godofodd In reply to salumba [2005-03-11 02:51:15 +0000 UTC]

It is indeed Sunridge. You know the Bay end of the mall? There is a patch of grass with a hill and the Bay's loading dock and it's behind some trees. It's useless! My guess is that they intended to have the path follow the building and then something changed.
