Description Forgot to put the date in the comic, shit... well here it is here: March 8th 2771

Many terrorist and rebel factions make up the separatist movement. But the leaders are from the Free Peoples Movement. It was originally from the Terderan political party in the UCR government, headed by Axel Terdera, but when he saw that they were taking things too far, the branch was kicked out, as Axel Terdera wanted to keep things as legal as he possibly could, and did not sympathize with Terrorists, rioters, or rebels at all. When the FP's movement became a group on it's own, they were looked at as nothing more than traitors to their party, and terrorists, as Axel Terdera commands an extreme amount of respect from colonists seeking freedom, and as well as local UCR authorities and the removal of what is now called the Free Peoples Movement was the sign that the Terderan party will not work with those who disturb the peace.

The now extremist Free peoples Movement is lead by a man who goes by "spartacus" nothing more is known

"We have been dictated to long enough. No more!
Freedom for the colonies! Death to the Republic!"

I will be making a 1 page comic for each nation Introducing them into the setting.

Terran Federation: goeliath.deviantart.com/art/TC…
Xenos Empire: goeliath.deviantart.com/art/TC…
Staevik Union: goeliath.deviantart.com/art/TC…
Trident Company: thecolonists.deviantart.com/ar…
The Confederacy of Sovereign Colonial Nations: TC Faction Indroduction: The Confederacy
The Free Colony of Oasis:
The United Colonial Republic:

For my   setting.

I'd encourage all other artists who have a faction to make an Introduction image/comic/story of their own, but if you do not want to then it is not necessary.

I encourage other artists to make a nation, or character of their own. The Setting will always need more.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK! my life! holy shit this one was a bitch to do, like. sweet crusty-balled jesus titties. God DAYUM.
In any case I would greatly appreciate some feedback on this one

2771 and the freemasons are still jewing the world like it's 1971.

I never really believed in the whole freemason thing, so they dont exactly exist here either.
It's just a horrible government. What once was like a great form of democracy, capitalism, and jobs a plenty. It's now a failing socialist government, that has stifled scientific advancement on hypothetical phobias of what technology could possibly become, lead by horribly weak leadership, plagued with corrupt senators, and has become very hard to get a job for many people to earn a living because of extreme restrictions put in place on corporate entities, or the federal government taking hold of smaller businesses trying to run thins it's way.
Where every colony used to be an equal, it's now only the central systems that flourish, the ones closer to earth that reap the benefits, and those colonies and systems on the outer ring closer to the free colonies that have been abandoned, had forced immigration of all the central systems 'unwanted' people.
They use the media which is all politically bias to lie to the people to get those stupid enough to believe it to sit idly by while the government continues to fuck them over.

And if it's not completely obvious the UCR was in fact based off the US.

"I never really believed in the whole freemason thing, so they dont exactly exist here either."
Ah, so freemasons simply don't exist, because you don't 'believe' in them.  Hm.
Do you realize that most of the 'founding fathers' of the United States were freemasons?
Do you really believe that is a harmless coincidence?
I suppose those guys didn't exist either, because you don't believe in them.

"It's just a horrible government" and that's it?
Nothing beneath the immediate surface, driving it to its horrible ends?
Just a 'corrupt' system, right?  Wrong.  That's really never how it works.
If you want to have a setting based on the real US, you need to grasp this:
(Horrible) governments are generally run by occult fraternities.
Ours is the modern posterchild of this phenomenon.

You can't effectively base fiction upon aspects of the real world that you don't want to fully examine.
This is why you've ended up with a geopolitical caricature of the real situation.  It's almost a parody.
You seem to see 'democracy' as such a great thing, but look at who pushes this 'democracy' around the world and look at how they go about it.
If 'democracy' is so wonderful, why do our benevolent democracy-makers have to bomb civilizations in to accepting it?
Democracy wasn't magically twisted in to a socialist pipedream.
It has always been a divide-and-conquer mechanism.
In a true democracy, 51% of the population can legally vote to execute the other 49% of the population.
When you realize how naive, gullible, or downright stupid most people are, it really doesn't sound so good.

To be honest, this thing of yours initially caught my attention because it sounded a bit like a comic I wrote with a friend about 15 years ago.
(It actually began as a storyboard, because we stupidly imagined animating it, before turning it in to a comic, which was never finished.)
We made an alternate timeline, diverged in the early 1700s, resulting in a technologically futuristic 1980s, which we used as our present.
The USA in our story was called the UAR (United American Republic) and it was basically a typical dystopia.  Very unoriginal, in retrospect.

Political correctness and fear-based conformity restricts the average person's ability to objectively examine art, literature or known history.
Have you ever read 1984?  It's almost become a cliché at this point, because so many folks read it, but fail to understand what it's really about.
Most great literature in modern history somehow indites the sun & phallic-worshiping, neobabylonian, judeomasonic power structure, through allegory.

Who or what are you trying to point the finger at with your story?  America?  Europe?  Socialism?  Religion?  Aliens?  Nebulous, faceless 'bad guys'..?
It basically has to be an indictment of somebody, or else what's the point of writing it?  For fun?  That's only going to interest a handful of people.
Your energy is more valuable than that.

I encourage you to keep at it, since you seem to be about 15-20% of the way there; you seem to recognize socialists as wolves in sheeps clothing.
However, I recommend that you research aspects of our history which you currently find uncomfortable or otherwise unbelievable.
The media wants us to believe that the real world is so absolutely boring, that we all need hollywood's fictional excrement as a source of intrigue and entertainment.

The real world is always 100x more interesting than any fiction either of us could ever write.

Remember the words of Voltaire:
"To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize."
Then proceed to criticize them through allegory.

Good luck with your writing, brother.

The concept of a secret society that has lasted hundreds of years is pretty dull to me. I dislike people who believe in these conspiracies that really don't make sense to even have anymore. That entire idea of faceless cultist freemasons being around with infinite political influence and money is just straight up retarded. but i am not willing to go any further into that issue and have a huge build-up of conspiracy and political nonsense comments on a simple comic.

this entire setting is a play on humanity as a whole. How we , despite things happening so long in our past, still hold grudges, or the fact that, in a future where religion is dead, we'll still find the most retarded reasons to kill each other, or how its a play that no government is a good form of government.
I will end up bringing religion up a couple of times when humanity runs into the alien species.
Everything is a play off everything.

Democratic governments are flawed, socialism is flawed, communism is flawed, totalitarian regimes are flawed, democratic confederacies are flawed, anarchy is flawed. There is never a true answer to the question of governments/societies. that Is what I will be trying to show.

In the terms of this government in specifically? its a play on socialism as a failing form of government, and as well as what happens when a government is given too much power over it's own people. Are there these 'internal fraternities that try to secrety control the government'? yes there are. but it's the actual political parties themselves. For example the republican party is one, and the liberal party would be another, and they'd be constantly butting heads, but they essentially own the system. those politicians that aren't standing with either of them to essentially rule over the UCR with them, are against them, and they'd blackmail, bribe, or threaten to have any threats removed.
We can essentially see this today with an outsider. Take Trump for example. A complete outsider to the Republican party, running by his own terms instead of theirs, and they are using media outlets, and harassment to try to remove him. Or like the most infamous one, the nazi party. They were the REAL fraternity/society, which bullied, bribed, and wormed their way to the top. assimilating others to join them, or forcing opposition out.
REAL examples that we actually know exist/existed. Not the superstition of ones that aren't really even around anymore or even existed.

I hate to rant so i'm just gonna end it here by saying almost everything will be parodied. They may be really subtle parodies, or they may be really obvious ones. But this is only one small page of a far greater story I plan on making. So make your judgments here or don't. either way I plan on going on with this

Pretty sure every freemason has a face.
They're just difficult to see for people who refuse to look.

Actually, the only critique I have here is that the armor in the first frame should be a tetch bulkier on top. Right now, that's about the right size for his torso, so clothes, padding and armor on top of that.

And gotta love good ol' back room politics.

goeliath In reply to I-Am-Madbat [2015-05-30 08:18:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I see what you mean. Torso should be a little wider for sure.
The original idea was to keep the chest plate smaller to make it a little more compact to add easier flexibility for the officer. From experiences wearing kevlar and IBA's (and a few sets of cosplay armors) they kind of restrict the complete manuverability of the arms, So the actual chestplate was constricted to fix the issue, and allow more free range of motion. THough Could it have been larger? yes it could have.

Yeah, there will be a lot of political intrigue, underhanded dealings, and overall shady shit going on.

Thanks for the feedback though! appreciate it, man!

I-Am-Madbat In reply to goeliath [2015-05-30 15:14:55 +0000 UTC]

I run into the bulk issue a lot in my renders. It kinda comes down to a trade-off between protection and maneuverability. Take bomb disposal gear as an example. There's no way you're running in that stuff lol. Or astronauts with arms poking out. They look like a five year old overloaded with winter gear lol.

goeliath In reply to I-Am-Madbat [2015-05-30 16:47:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Plus it's just Riot gear. Mostly for dealing with rocks, and molotovs and such, though their uniforms are very much flame retardant.

When it comes to gunfights or when things break down, then the droids get sent in, while the soldiers stay put. Like right now... or... right then. before a hidden bomb detonated.

Thanks man! All these comics I do are kinda just practice for when I start doing the real thing. So I dick around with different coloring techniques and whatnots. Usually they all turn out just right.
And hire me? Oh, no I'm afraid I'm not nearly good enough to start doing commissions or any of that stuff.
One day maybe for fun I'll start that up just to fund like a premium membership or some extra nonsensical stuff, but I neither have the skills, nor the need for cash to do commissions.

As a friend I could probably just do it for free in my spare time whenever.

But thanks!

I like the ODST's armor. A bit heavy in comparison to this stuff, but no biggie.
I think it's the helmet though. I can't see the rest of the armor working too well. Not bulky enough.

thanks!

Well, in a riot, there's always that group that just goes around looting instead of the actual reason the group is out there. I wouldn't be surprised if some looting were going on.

Staevik and Political Intrigue go so well. I also forgot to put a current date in the comic so I'll have to add that in the desc. >.>

And no. staevik guy does not actually die. Sorry to kill your hopes there, bud
