So i watched the new She-ra series, and it was... Meh. It's a good series for a very young target tho, it wasn't ment to be for adults ofc, but i really liked the art style so i wanted to try to redesign Adam and He-man for fit in that universe. Hope you enjoy!Some of my ideas for the rebooted character:
1)Adam received the sword of power for his 16th birthday by Man-At-Arms.
2) Adam have a lot of difficulty to handle the sword when he's not transormed.
3) He's a hothead, always trying to prove his valor to Man-At-Arms and Teela, but usually causing troubles.
4) Nobody knows that Adam and He-man are the same person, except Man-At-Arms, Cringer and Orko.
5) Since Teela don't know about Adam's secret, she belives that Adam became a coward after his 16th birthday, this thing stress Adam a lot.
6) He-man control the power of thunders.
7) Unlike She-ra, he can actually reverse the transformation of Battle Cat.

I'm personally not that good to write fanfics, i'm more a comic book guy, i like to draw what i imagine. Anyway i didn't consider to use any of this for actual projects, it was more a character design practice than anything esle.

Makes me wonder how strong and skilled this version of Adam/He Man is. I mean, in the original show, He Man could easily lift cities, move mountains, threw the castle of Greyskull, drilled to the center of the planet with a stalagmite, reversed a tornado, shattered Photanium (the strongest metal in his universe) and even pushed a moon. I can imagine this version of He Man is nowhere as strong as his 80's version but I can say he's still very strong, likely even stronger than She Ra herself. What feats do you think this version of Adam can do?

He-man is still very strong, like he could destroy or lift a tank with his own hands with no probs at all, but at the same time he's not super fast since he's way more massive compared to She-ra, but yeah he's stronger than She-ra, even if, as you guessed, he's not powerful like the 80s series, he's more "believable".

That's true. This version is in the more believable levels of She Ra reboot tier power but I can guess he's one of the strongest around. Since he could lift tanks and destroy them easily, I can imagine his higher end feats of strength goes a bit further. I can see him capable of lifting a large statue that's way bigger and heavier than tanks albeit with a little struggle in it and needs proper footing to use it as a weapon. Also, he's definitely a heavy hitter and can easily break through most armors and barriers, and even leave large craters in cliffsides with a single punch. Heck, he's probably capable of overpowering most of the horde if he was fighting alongside his sister, She Ra. He's also as tough as he's strong, capable of shrugging off damage more than what She Ra ever can. And as for speed, while I do see him nowhere as fast or agile as She Ra and other agile beings like Catra, he's no slouch in that department and he's still pretty nimble and quick for a guy his size, being able to fairly keep up with She Ra. Lastly, while he is strong, I can also bet he uses his brain as much as his brawn, preferring to out think his opponents and use his skill instead of generally overpowering his foes, especially someone like Skeletor.

Yeah. I could say he's still young and not as experienced as his 80's self.. but still fairly smart and skilled in his own right. With time and the fights he's in, he grows and gets more skilled over time. One last part of his power is his Power Sword that he carries. It looks a little similar to She Ra's sword but it definitely resembles his sword from the 2002 series. He's not to skilled in it but good enough to fight evenly with other skilled sword fighters, even capable of matching She Ra. Though, like everyone, he does have weaknesses and I wonder what weaknesses you consider he might have.
Also, I also wanna joke he's kinda a chick magnet to an extent, not as exaggerating as most examples but it's subtle and some of the girls of the Rebellion and Princess Alliance admit he's pretty "Cute" and "Handsome." (both as Adam and He Man respectively and ironic they don't know he and He Man are the same guy).

Speakin about weknesses, they're not much physical, except the being a bit slow due to his muscles and the fact that he can't tell anyone about his powers, cuz otherwise the sword will lock em to the owner, but they're more psychological, it's basically the Stan Lee concept of super heroes: the fact that a powerful character have big problems. In the case of Adam, he's happy to have great powers but he don't feel much satisfied after winning a battle, since the rest of the peps see him like a coward who just runs away and call He-man for help, due to his young age and the fact that he's still immature, he really start to hate that kind of situations, sometimes even thinkin to never come back to be Adam at all, and also the fact that he feels so powerful when he's He-man, makes him feel superior to the others, at the point of being a sort of lone wolf sometimes, cuz he's a bit selfish, but just like gettin better with his fighting skills, with time and experience he finally starts to get for real for what he's fighting for. It's not about the glory, being the hero of the day or being the most powerful man in the universe, but it's about protect his world and the people he cares about, no matter the cost, the lifes of milions of peps are much more precious than some fame, and of course he also realize that he can't to the work all alone, Man at arms and Teela and all the others Masters are super good allies.

I actually like your explanation about his psychological weaknesses of being young and self confident who uses his power to feel good but that also distances himself from others, his identity issues as both Adam and He Man that also deconstructs it as it makes some people see him as a coward when He Man comes in and saves the day, and the internal struggle of his title of wielding the power of Grayskull, much like She Ra's own struggles and issues in the reboot, making her and Adam a bit more alike. But of course, due to this version of Adam being very young, he's a bit selfish and naive but, with time, discipline and especially learning from his mistakes and struggle, he will grow out of it and realize it's not his title or his power that makes him a hero and protector of Eternia, but it's the man that uses that power as the He Man we know. This would make him more fleshed out and relatable than his 80's version who hardly suffered those struggles and he also hardly loses when this version of He Man will likely taste the experience of a struggling battle of himself, his enemies around him (Skeletor and likely Hordak and Shadow Weaver to an extent), and the relationships with his friends and family, especially She Ra as his long lost sister.

How about Skeletor?
They could keep the whole "former ally/apprentice angle" but expand on the divided with their use of technology. Hordak preferred it Keltor did not. (I'm going by 2002 characterization)
Giving further cause their split when the plan to kidnap the royal siblings was only half successful and Hordak cut his loses and abandoned his ally.
The "crossover" could come about when She-Ra begins to turn the tide in the Rebels favor. So Hordak reluctantly contacts Keltor, now Skeletor with the offer they unite to defeat their foes.
It would be a good chance to see how each villain is a foil to the other. Not only because one favors magic over the other but also:
Hordak has an army, Skeletor has a small (mostly) elite group of followers.
Skeletor became a Lich because he was close to death, Hordak willing became a Cyborg.
Hordak is composed Skeletor reveals in his villainy.
The only thing they share, is neither is second fiddle anymore, and both are a genuine threat to their Heroes.
Just think of the drama it would cause them. Learning that both are warrior protectors and are lost siblings to boot, would be heavy thing to bear for them both. Especially for Adora who has the double whammy of learning she's not even from Etheria. Yet she's supposed to defend it.

In my version Skeletor and Hordak knows eachoder just by reputation. Skeletor actually have a very big army here, the classic characters we know are his grnerals, and due to that, Eternia is turning into a big warzone, just a few lands are still safe. I took this decision cuz i wanted to justify the fact that He-man is more brutal in fights compared to Adora, war is cruel and Adam learned it.

Great re-imagining of Adam/He-Man! It's also neat to see people being fair toward the art style (it kinda got a bit of hate). Curiously, the series did set up some ground for connecting to the He-Man universe most notably the name Eternia being a password for First One ruin, with the First Ones being strongly implied to be colonists from another world, and Etheria being stranded by Mara in Despondos - the realm in which King Grayskull sealed Hordak and the Evil Horde, in the 2002 He-Man comic, and latter comics.
So I think the creators would like to introduce He-Man - the problem is that aparently the He-Man movie, makes is legally problematic (legal stuff is weird.)
Also, about She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, I actually very much liked the new series, and I think it has multiple adult/dark themes - most notably Shadow Weaver being a pretty good and terrifying portrayal of an abusive parent, especially towards Catra, as well as She-Ra being quite weighted down by her responsibilities and guilt, for example.

I really really hope to see Adam in the series, that would be like a dream come true, since i grew up with the 2002 He-man series, do i'd like to see more deep MOTU stuff on screen.
Speakin about the She-ra series, like i said, i think it's good for a younger audience simply cuz for an adult is very easy to get how some characters will develop, like in my case, i got that Entrapta was destined to be part of the villains since her very first appearance, it didn't give much surprises, that's it, but i still see a lot of potential in this series. Speakin about the art style, i perfectly get why a lot of peps don't like it, it's clear how the designers wanted to play safe a lot of times, and for a classic MOTU fan ofc isn't that good, but speakin about myself, as an artist, i can totally get some of the design choice they made, in general i think the style is really good, i can tell that some scenes are actually rushed (like the fact that peps belive that none of the female character have boobs, but they're actually there lol, you can see 'em from different angles, probably they had to rush due to deadlines).
