Description
The idea for a review of The Adventures of Young Moby Dick came to me when I saw Phelous review the film. It certainly was as terrible as it looked. It was like Quest for Camelot, in that it's an animated film that tried to be an animated musical in the 1990s. The problem with this film was that the animation is cheap, the story has been sugarcoated in addition to various animated film cliches taken from better films like The Land Before Time or Beauty and the Beast, and also there's the ending which is a major contrast to the original novel. Granted The Little Mermaid had a happy ending in contrast to the original Hans Christian Andersen story, but it had better animation, memorable songs and immortal and iconic characters. Something that The Adventures of Young Moby Dick lacks.
