Description
Part of my Advanced Higher Expressive Unit. Acrylic on canvas, did this painting in my prelim exam, which I think was three hours long. The theme is "Tormented Minds". I looked at mental illnesses in my project and this painting is about Bipolar Disorder, while also incorporating animalistic imagery inspired by Edgar Allen Poe *hyperventilates* It's all very confusing

this is so powerful in such a strange way, im not sure why but i love it and i can totally understand how this relates to bipolar and even possibly skitzophrenia .. something about the colours and the faces being overlapped really gets to me.

So I read some of your comments just wanted to give some input. You should not feel bad for charging people for your work, I know it's hard and I have a difficult time asking for $ too, but I had an art teacher who explained to me. When you make a work of art you are putting yourself into that piece. You spend lots of time and energy into creating your work, to not ask for money is working for free and you shouldn't do that. To hook a friend up from time to time is cool, like charity.
But an artist is like any other job, and when random people ask you for work $$$.

I only have a couple of pieces that I would sell for more then 100, but that is because I spent weeks on those pieces, and I don't want to let them go. There is 1 Freddy piece that I did 2 years ago that is very large and will be expensive to scan, so I haven't posted it yet. That is 1 of the pieces I would charge more for just because of the time and detail that went in to it.

I sold one drawing before for a money-raising thing at school, and I know it was too cheap considering the details and time I put into it. But they were at set prices depending on the size of paper

The few pieces I have that I would sell for that much is because of the time and effort.
A friend of mine at work makes studded patches. He asked me to make acrylic on leather patches with him that we would sell, we have a couple of local bands interested in having us make patches for them that they would sell for us. He is working on making us a sight and I am just practicing since I am new to painting on leather.
I hope it goes well, I have 2 patches I posted on here for fun, but neither of those would be for sale since they were both copyrighted work made as fan art.
