Wheeler here is a green moray eel.
As for why Wheeler is so enormous, he's wearing a soft, padded fat suit and he isn't fat. He's wearing it because I wanted to a make reference to the fat/obese American stereotype for humour. However, I didn't actually want him to be fat since Gaia wouldn't select a person as unfit and unhealthy as an obese person and the lifestyle associated with obesity (over-consumption, sedentariness, consumption of junk food) is especially harmful to the environment and goes against of what the Captain Planet and the Planeteers stand for which is environmental responsibility. So instead, he's wearing a fat suit because I believe he wouldn't be promoting obesity if he's just a non-fat person wearing a fat suit that isn't even meant to look realistic. To become massive by wearing a soft, padded fat suit doesn't require the person to gorge on junk food and be extremely lazy. Additionally, Wheeler is a silly, cocky American and I think referencing the fat/obese American stereotype would be appropriate for him.
I drew Wheeler as a green moray eel because green moray eels are naturally found in waters along the Eastern coast of the US. I also thought Wheeler suited a moray eel because he's rough, tough, fiery, angry, hot-tempered, rowdy, fierce, bold, passionate, hot-headed and chaotic.
