Glowing magical crystal things are obviously the best choice for lighting in a forest. A lantern would make too much sense.

I really really love how simplified but beautiful this is??? Like the colors are kept simple and the lines and the strokes but the colors were chosen perfectly, it looks so mystical <3 Do you use textures over the whole picture or is the texture from your brushes? Because I just love that look alsdkjf

Actually what I did is used photoshop to put like a glowy grain fillter over everything. u v u Filters are magic
Backgrounds are really good practice!! But I think you'd surpass this as I'm still learning how to do backgrounds properly too. But practice definitely is helping!
