My take on Tali. It always irritates me that everyone thinks she is purple just because she apparently favors the color..Yes, I think she is orange.. not purple.
My favorite color is green... but my hair and skin are not green.
If I had my way Quarians would LITERALLY be a very 'colorful people'. xD
Greyed her out a bit, as she did actually end up a little oranger than I initially intended. LOL

Was just reading the other comments (because thats soooo normal) And i would say that the quarians are more like to be light pink, rather than gray or purple. But i like Tali orange.

I'm probably one of the few who can't really picture Tali or any other quarian with hair. But I don't really care what color she is. Part of me thinks that the fanboys/fangirls are hating on this is because she doesn't look "OH SO CUTE/KAWAII/BLUSHY/MOE/VULNERABLE/ANIMUDESU" enough >___>(like most of her fanboy/fangirl following portray her as -____-) Her fandom makes me very sad most of the time...

Ahem. I think she is an orange sherbet badass. LOL No hair makes the most sense to me because they live in thermo-regulated suits. If they haven't evolved to not have hair chances are it probably rubbed off.

She actually looks like an alien instead of a purple elf with glowing eyes.

Really? Most of the fanart seems to be taking the same general features you presented here, but I too grow tired of the purple-ness.
It's probably mostly the fanboys giving you trouble, sine they're convinced she should pretty much just be a human with long purple hair. Because, you know, they'd never be able to live with themselves if they tapped some little bald wrinkly thing.

You.. are AWESOME! If you read some of the comments on this picture you'll see people raging about her baldness. It makes sense for suit life though if you ask me. Also.. yes.. I dont think Tali is Purple.. I think Purple is probably her favorite color.. Purple and orange look nice together so.. TALI IS ORANGE! lol A lot of people were ticked off about me making them all colorful too.. I know they are probably just boring old grey.. but colorful fraggle-esc Quarians is way more fun. xD

Fraggles? NO. Those little buggers ruined my childhood (not that a rainbow of quarians isn't a bad idea).
Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if quarians were, in their natural environment, fuzzy, since the plant life on their homeworld depended on larger creatures for pollination due to the lack of insects. I don't know about you, but fur is great for carrying seeds and pollen. Also, boobies = mammals = fur. However, that stuff would definitely get in the way under those suits, so they're probably bald or short-furred, either because they take something to prevent hair growth or it simply doesn't grow too well in that enclosed environment. As for color, lack of exposure to sunlight may have made them dull and pale, but they might have been really dark to begin with, so who knows?
The fanboys can shove it up their collective assholes. As for me, I'll be happy with whatever BioWare decides, so long as they aren't purple asari or something equally unoriginal.

I dunno though, the fur argument is good, but hair is also used as a filtration system or a prevention method to keep bits of stuff out of your eyes/nostrils/pores.. so it wouldn't make sense for a mammal on a planet that gives you diseases to propagate, to have an excess of body hair. To me anyway. Also there are some .. critters.. like monotremes.. who nurse their young but also lay eggs. Its reasonable to assume that other.. stranger things exist out there in space.
I for one hope they never show Quarians. I know people are dying to know what they look like.. but at the same time I think most of their appeal is the fact that we don't know. If they come up with a design people will undoubtedly be equally disappointed and relieved.. its probably best they just leave it be and let the fans chose what suits them best.

I like this concept, honestly I don't care what color Tali's skin is I'm more worried if we'll even see her face in Mass Effect 3 D:. Anyways, cool job yet the ear distracts me for some reason....

Though I never had any problem with the color purple I always pictured her more with a grayish fleshy color.

EXACTLY! And what I pretty much told Elysian was that I am SURE they are a grey color.. but I find that rather boring- and since we havent seen them I can make them look like whatever the hell I want to, so they are colorful.. because I think that's more fun to look at that boring grey. xD
