Eric became the eighteenth boy in the older group at the time he joined them. Of course he already knew these boys because it was a small village and they had already shared many activities. But that did not stop the older boys from giving this young newcomer an initiation to the group. For the first few weeks after his joining them the group decided that Eric had to get all the water and the wood for their lodge. Another rule for Eric was to perform immediately any exercise one of them ordered such as twenty push-ups or chin-ups and so forth. Eric took all of this well and went along with what they asked with a good spirit. Soon enough they all just welcomed him as one of them and let go of any
