we were getting ready to leave and ken had his shoes dangling loosely from one hand. so i asked him not to move and got back down in the sand to catch this one.
those shoes. i really do.

Haha, I have a disliking for thongs/sandals, and I do that loads when my friends have thongs/sandals and they flick sand up in the air and into my shoes.

actually...if you look... the ocean to the right is wider than the ocean to the left. the horizon isn't so much tilted as it displays one point perspective, but thank you, that's been pointed out to me before.

I have those shoes as well! I love this picture, but I think you should have tried one without tilting the horizontal line in the background. I don't know if it would make it better, but I think it's worth a try. I also love the grayscale

yeah... i didnt even notice the horizon line until after the shot (oops). i've heard that would help, and i agree. i tried photoshopping it afterwards, but the amount of arm i have to cut out to do so completely ruins the composition. so i just have to keep a better eye out for horizons in the future. grrr for being in a rush huh?

that's actually a very good question... my guess is that i used the motion mode just b/c that's what it was in for the shots i took of us running around the sand like a bunch of crazed lunatics.

it's so nice to capture moments just as you saw them. i went out with ken and friends tonight and he brought up going to the shore- i asked him if he was with you since you're away message mentioned the beach. how neat.
