it happens quite a bit when a big herd gets running around. the mom's notice almost immediately. you can see Pine pinning her ears in the photo. it takes the babies a little longer, but they go back to the right mom when she starts calling.

i've always been of the stance that the photographer, and not the camera, makes the photo. then again, i used a point and shoot for the LONGEST time. i'm a die hard canon fan for a lot of reasons, but i guess that's all a matter of personal taste. either way, thank you! i'm glad you like the photo.
