Description Because there's nothing like flinging yourself off the side of a ship in the middle of a big frickin' magical storm to help resolve a completely unrelated dispute.

Inspired by Episode 1 of Season 3 of Once Upon a Time, which I will admit I haven't seen in a while, so apologies all around if (and it's almost certainly more than an 'if') I got the costumes in that episode wrong. I'll assume Regina was wearing some form of blazer. Wild stab in the dark there.

Oh my Gods x'D I litterly just finished this scene for the first time xD I love how they were bickering at the ship whether to kill that mermaid they caught and how it escalated and then Emma jumps overboard and whoosh, everyone stops fighting xD Well, even though it was so random and stupid, it worked, didn't it? xD

Haha, I mean, as I said to another commenter below, there was pretty much zero reason for Emma to have any faith that the bizarre idea of throwing herself overboard would work. The fact that it did was nothing but pure, dumb luck (or lazy writers)

Sure, but considering the episode was pretty awful I didn't really want to have to watch it again just for research.

actually, Regina is wearing a blazer in this scene, a blue one with a black turtleneck, I believe.

goofymoNkey In reply to ravenclawqueen [2014-07-18 11:26:50 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, she does know how to sport a leather corset. Though I've always found it difficult to watch scenes involving the Evil Queen's outfits, as I can't concentrate on what's going on in the plot.

Cool, I was partially correct then. Also good to know if I need any ludicrously specific information on Regina's blazer wearing habits from episode to episode I know who to ask.

Lol yep, as an Evil Regal I'm inclined to pay particular attention to Regina's outfits

goofymoNkey In reply to ravenclawqueen [2014-07-17 06:30:30 +0000 UTC]

She does have some fine outfits. I've actually noticed I've developed a particular fondness for women in blazers as of late. I solely blame Regina Mills for this phenomenon.

Me too. She just makes blazers even more classy than they were to begin with. I also LOVE her Enchanted Forest outfits. The Evil Queen has a wardrobe that is simply to die for!

I mean, it's not like they would here her

goofymoNkey In reply to aracnea [2014-07-16 07:30:33 +0000 UTC]

I get what you're saying, but in my opinion I think it was pretty much dumb luck that it worked. She had no real logical reason to believe it could work--I mean, in the middle of a wild storm where everyone else is already preoccupied, it could've been just as likely that no one would've even noticed she was gone until it was way, way too late to save her.

Sorry Henry, but I'm afraid that crazy is in your bloodline!

The Charming family does do a lot of crazy things... (Especially Snow.  Her sparing Regina [multipal times], insisting on trying to save Regina at the possible expense of the total destruction of the entire kingdom, trying to have her heart split so that Charming could live [I mean it did work but if it didn't then Charming she AND THE BABY would have all died]...) it kinda makes me wonder why they're allowed to rule, honestly

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

goofymoNkey In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2014-07-15 09:06:08 +0000 UTC]

Haha, you bring up several good points on the Charming family's unsuitability to rule. The one that annoyed me the most with Snow was in the season 2 finale when Regina's holding off the destructive magical crystal...thingy... and everyone's about to leave through a magic bean portal. Snow, after being super antagonistic to Regina all season, suddenly decides to do a 360 and gives this speech about how everyone should stay behind to SOMEHOW help Regina. Yeah, because sacrificing the whole town for the sake of your own altruism when you have NO ACTUAL PLAN on how to help makes perfect sense. /End Rant. Haha, well at least we know where Emma gets it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to goofymoNkey [2014-07-15 14:47:48 +0000 UTC]

Yeah...  Snow probably mostly said it because she felt like she owed Regina because of killing Cora.  (even though killing Cora was totally just.  I'm pissed that the lesson that was gotten from that was "SNOW DID A BAD THING! NOW SHE MUST SUFFER!" and not, say, a lesson to REGINA that "this is what happens when you threaten to kill people... you wind up pushing them to do things that they would ordinarily never do")  The woman [Regina] clearly has no idea how to live a decent life... letting her have a hero's death is way to good for her.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

goofymoNkey In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2014-07-16 07:25:37 +0000 UTC]

Heh, well I kind of like Regina. Yeah she's a jerk who doesn't know how to let herself be happy, but that's her whole schtick. I can definitely understand though why some people don't like her. I also agree that Snow generally does get looked down on more than she probably should in comparison to other characters, such as Neal, Gold or Hook, who've all done pretty horrible things yet are instead treated like good guys, or at worst a 'loveable' bad guy. Nope. I won't get started on that or I'll never stop ranting.
