I used to live in an area that had those all over the place. They are creepy spiders ! Wonderful shot btw

Ty , it was kinda big 25mm-35mm and I was going to move it to get a better shot.
Plus it keep face off on me and usually means it will bite .
If it was a small jumper 2mm-4mm no problem but this thing had some fangs I could see with my naked eye... lol

Those are mean suckers. We don't really have any spiders up here that I've seen. I'm not complaining or anything

I need to get a macro lens. It is on my list of equipment to buy

That is a good idea. For some reason I never thought to check ebay. There are usually good deals to find there !

I'm drooling, I've watched your macro shots of insects all the past summer and I haven't come close to the clarity you are getting. I appreciate your information regarding lenses however I have the strongest (apparently) for my camera...grr. I would hate to invest in another.

To compensate, my nose is right down (almost) on the wasps when I'm shooting ...and sometimes they are sitting on the top of my lens, neck and head. You are right...if they don't feel threatened they don't bite. The wasps seem to recognize me, however they will bite anyone else that approach them. ):

My Pentax was stolen, and it seems Pentax has the best macro lens...oh woe is me. Anyway, I love your pictures and use them as my goal.

Fantastic shot...I will say I trust the wasps more than spiders!LOL
Thanks for sharing these marvelous shots!!!

Well...I was a tad upset myself. It took me through a lot of horse shows and other sporting events in damned poor conditions and 'did me proud'. I am so impressed with the Sigma lenses...and while looking up lenses for my camera I took a look at the Nikon and Canon lens and they don't seem to have the power yours does. Ahh well...I can't afford another camera at this moment so I guess I'll suffer a while longer.LOL Meanwhile I'll drool over your shots.

Gooiool In reply to CentralCircle [2010-01-11 16:46:22 +0000 UTC]

Most people don't realize but spiders , bees , wasp, They don't really like to bite .
They only bite if you threaten them . So go slow and if one lands on you be still , it will crawl or fly away ... OO
