Description "Oh, you went to a zoo! Got any pictures of animals?"
"...Oops"

If you really thought I was almost done with train pictures, you're wrong. I'm working on a drawing I promise

So a while ago, Merleee  and I went to Pairi Daiza, and they completely renovated their railway that goes around the park
They have two trains and a part of the track goes straight through the fields where the elephants and bison live, a new part of the zoo that isn't even open to public yet. It's only visible if you take this train!

This zoo is actually pretty beautiful and the animals live in large areas, and there's lots of green too. It's also easily reachable by train (as you can see on this route I've done, it even has it's name on the nameplate of this station: [BELGIUM BY TRAIN]: Day 9  ) We were also lucky enough to have a charabanc pulled by horses waiting for us at the station, so we didn't have to walk

So, what's going on in this picture:

The boat you sea in the back is called the "Mersus Emergo", and has tons of reptilians, turtles, insects and other similar creatures that were saved from illegal trading.

The tower at the back is probably the most famous landmark of Pairi Daiza , it's called the Abbey Tower and is 54 meters high. it was built in 17th century!

The small gauge steam locomotive is called LAS and is from 1954. She was built in Poland, but was based on a German loc. Some sources say this is because of industrial espionage. After having a pretty wild live in Poland and before the Berlin wall fell, she was brought to Belgium. Strangely enough, to get this locomotive back in that time, she wasn't bought with money, but with medicine. They also have another locomotive called the Brigadelok who was built in 1917.
Pairi Daiza is also building a small railway museum in their park, which will have 5 small historic diesel locomotives and other small gauge objects.

And to not spam you guys AGAIN with train stuff, here are some other pictures I took:

< It's a fun little detail, their railroad crossings are actually based on old Belgian crossings. Although they look more like Swedish ones

< The railroad crossing in action, with the same train crossing it. Surprisingly enough, these signals do not have a bell of any sort.

< A later picture I took from the same place as the main image, except now with more steam

Also let it be known that I hate taking pictures with smartphones
